Marriott International announces appointment of Alethea Lam as Vice President, Communications for Asia Pacific

In her new role, Lam will be managing and orchestrating the company's internal and external communications, including corporate reputation and crisis management.

HONG KONG – Marriott International announced that Alethea Lamhas assumed the position of Vice President, Communications for Asia Pacific. She is based out of Marriott’s Asia Pacific continent office in Hong Kong.

In her new role, Lam will be managing and orchestrating the company’s internal and external communications, including corporate reputation and crisis management. In addition, she will also oversee the holistic brand communications strategy for Marriott International’s 20+ distinct brands in Asia-Pacific, ensuring maximum positive exposure for key hotel openings and brand initiatives and programs. Additionally, she will provide strategic counsel to Marriott’s over 550 operating hotels in Asia Pacific; and is also a member of the APAC leadership team.

I am delighted to have Alethea join this important position given her extensive experience in driving high impact brand communication and corporate communication strategies across a multitude of industries.”

Prior to this appointment, Alethea was Director of Corporate Communications for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Asia Pacific, where she was based in Singapore. Alethea’s experience in the hospitality industry spans 12 years; and before joining the booming travel industry, Alethea has worked across industries including fashion and entertainment; and also as an event and logistics consultant for the Canadian Embassy during the 2008 Beijing Olympics and Paralympics. Alethea holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Literature and Psychology from the University of British Columbia.
