THAI inaugurates direct flight to Vienna, Austria

THAI’s direct roundtrip flights to and from Vienna, located in Central Europe and the gateway to Europe, will make it convenient for passengers to connect flights to various destinations operated by THAI in Europe

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) launched its inaugural flight operating directly to Vienna.  Marking first flight celebrations, THAI held a reception presided by Mrs. Usanee  Sangsingkeo, THAI Acting President, with the presence of Mr. Wiwat Piyawiroj, THAI Executive Vice President, Commercial Department, THAI Management, and THAI’s General Manager, Republic of Austria and Eastern Europe.

Over 250 guests attended the inaugural flight reception at Palais Ferstel in Vienna, including His Excellency Mr. Songsak Saicheua, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand to Vienna, guests from the aviation industry, travel agents and customers from Thailand and Austria, and journalists.

Mrs. Usanee Sangsingkeo, THAI Acting President, said that THAI aims to expand its route network in order to help drive the economy worldwide, which is why THAI launched roundtrip flights to and from Bangkok-Vienna, which celebrated its first flight on 16 November 2017.

THAI’s direct roundtrip flights to and from Vienna, located in Central Europe and the gateway to Europe, will make it convenient for passengers to connect flights to various destinations operated by THAI in Europe. Currently, THAI flies to 12 destinations in 10 countries in Europe: Copenhagen, Oslo, Brussels, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Stockholm, London, Rome, Milan, and Moscow, which equates to more than 80 flights per week. Passengers traveling from Europe will enjoy traveling to Thailand at a flight time of approximately 10 hours, especially those traveling from Austria may now enjoy the comfort and convenience of traveling direct, non-stop flights from Vienna-Bangkok.  Due to Bangkok’s central location in Southeast Asia, business and leisure passengers will be able to conveniently connect flights to various destinations throughout Asia and Australia on flights operated by THAI and other airlines in its network.

Vienna is the capital of the Republic of Austria that has a geographically advantageous location, as it is beautifully situated in the midst of nature and surrounded by mountains. Centrally located, passengers can easily connect from Vienna to other cities in Europe and from Europe to Thailand conveniently on THAI’s network. Vienna is renown for its revered residents, such as Mozart, Beethoven and Sigmund Freud. As the city of music, Vienna is famous for its classical composers and Imperial Palaces such as Schonbrunn Palace and Hofburg Palace, as well as the Museumsquartier baroque district. Also enjoy the pleasure of Viennese cuisine, the various meats and strudels as well as the world famous Sachertorte that has its origins in Vienna.

THAI operates four roundtrip flights per week from Bangkok-Vienna on Monday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday utilizing Boeing 777-300ER aircraft that is equip with 348 seats consisting of 42 seats in Royal Silk Class with full flat beds that recline 180 degrees and 306 seats in Economy Class. All seats are equipped with personal audio video on demand screens for inflight entertainment. The schedule for flights to and from Vienna are as follows:
