Hold on to your hats, folks. It’s going to be a wild ride at Hard Rock Hotel Shenzhen as Glenn Peat has just been appointed to take the helm of the brand’s first hotel in Mainland China, opened in September.

The 20-year hospitality veteran was a chief commander at Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, where he brought forth a string of successful pre-openings and restaurant refurbishments. With a wealth of experience in resort and luxury hotel operations in China, India, Australia and New Zealand, Glenn creates unforgettable experiences for his guests whilst delivering on the brand promise.

Glenn began his hospitality career in Australia with Hyatt Regency Coolum as a corporate trainee, striking all the right notes and quickly climbed up the managerial ranks. Before long, he found himself holding key roles in the food and beverage department at Park Hyatt Canberra, Hyatt Regency Perth, and Hyatt Regency Coolum Golf Resort & Spa.

Just like The Beatles, Glenn made his pilgrimage to India to advance his career. Here, he took on a more challenging role as executive assistant manager, leading the restaurant division at the acclaimed Grand Hyatt Goa in the 2010s. He then led Hyatt Regency’s first property in Ludhiana to become Trip Advisor’s favorite hotel in the city.

Glenn strongly believes that teamwork is essential to the long-term success of a hotel. He shines in employee recruitment, training and retention, resulting in the highest employee engagement scores within Hyatt worldwide in 2014. A culturally intelligent communicator, Glenn masterfully builds and maintains strong working relationships with stakeholders in order to reach his aspirations.

During his most recent post as hotel manager at Pudong Shangri-La, Glenn achieved the highest guest satisfaction score in the history of the prestigious hotel. Now, Glenn is aboard the Hard Rock Hotel Shenzhen train as a full-fledged hospitality superstar.

I am enormously excited to join Hard Rock Hotel Shenzhen, the very first Hard Rock Hotel in Mainland China. Shenzhen is a vibrant and exciting city, and we are so proud to bring the unique Hard Rock experience here. I look forward to welcoming guests from home and the world with our premium hospitality and a host of world-class leisure, dining and entertainment offerings,” says Glenn.

Originally from New Zealand, Glenn earned a degree in hospitality management from Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology. Known as a passionate hotelier who focuses on driving strong business results and achieving service excellence, the man of the hour has got the goods to make his mark at the landmark hotel in the Guangdong region.
