The first look inside QT Queenstown

This resort will welcome guests from the 1st December 2017 to inspiring sights over the lake and peaks of the Southern Alps, a quintessentially Queenstown setting.

QT Hotels & Resorts is excited to unveil the artist impressions of its much anticipated property, QT Queenstown. Luxury comfort meets contemporary decor across 69 guest rooms; this is the first look at the interior of New Zealand’s next QT property. This resort will welcome guests from the 1st December 2017 to inspiring sights over the lake and peaks of the Southern Alps, a quintessentially Queenstown setting – a designer sanctuary where Mother Nature meets modern design.

QT Queenstown follows the design-DNA of QT’s predecessor properties, with its identity inspired by the surrounding environment along with a touch of signature QT quirk. The property embraces the city’s iconic landmarks, Lake Wakatipu and The Remarkables, and encompasses a mixture of alpine and apres ski lifestyle, a central narrative running through the public spaces, designer suites and reimagined hotel dining experience. QT Queenstown has been curated by QT collaborators; designer Nic Graham, styled by Anna Roberts and with costumes by Janet Hine.

QT Hotels & Resorts redefines the designer hotel experience; an interior consideration across all properties is the relationship between old and new. Nic Graham has worked on fashioning the QT vision since the first property of the collection, QT Gold Coast in 2011, balancing vintage influences and contemporary style to create a sense of luxury comfort, “this is home but a home many of us don’t experience“.

Bazaar continues the aesthetic direction of the resort. The exposed surfaces, the herringbone pattern on the floor and leather straps came from original story channeling outdoor sports equipment. Foodies with adventurous tastes are enticed by the exciting hustle and bustle of our traditional marketplace reimagined – Bazaar. Chefs provide a theatrical and thoroughly interactive dining experience inspired by Central Otago’s fresh produce. The mosaic of international cuisines is prepared before your eyes creating both an ocular and gastronomic experience for guests like no other.

The hallmark of good design and unparalleled views continues through to Reds with custom QT furniture, including Eames-era chairs and bold wall graphics. Reds is suited to wine connoisseurs and mixologists alike, where New Zealand’s best drops and tantalising concoctions are matched to watch the sun set across the alps and lake. Queenstown’s finest bartenders tend to the early afternoon and late night crew with the largest selection of spirits and liqueurs in town, with classic and signature tipples.
