Bigger and brighter stage for Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau’s business events conference

BE @ Penang 2017 set to shine with star business events speakers and The Best Business Events Print Advertisement Award.

Bangkok – Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) announced an exciting collaboration with TTGmice– The Best Business Events Print Advertisement Award – for the second edition of the BE @ Penang conference.

This is the second year PCEB is partnering with TTGmice for the conference. Themed BE EMPOWERED, BE @ Penang 2017 will take place on 7 & 8 December 2017 at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre, Penang.

The Best Business Events Print Advertisement Award is an advertising award open to all Business Events industry players in Asia Pacific registered for BE @ Penang 2017. The Grand Prize winner will walk away with any regular TTGmice advertising space of their choice worth up to USD 14,500,” said Karen Yue, Group Editor at TTG Asia Media.

The top three entries will be presented at the BE @ Penang 2017 where they will vie for votes and the judges’ favour. Besides the Grand Prize, other awards include The Most Liked Entry, which will walk away with a staycation in Singapore,” said Ashwin Gunasekeran, Chief Executive Officer of PCEB.

BE @ Penang 2017’s theme BE EMPOWERED positions the conference as a platform encouraging the Penang Business Events industry players to communicate and collaborate with the global Business Events industry players to capture businesses for Penang.

We welcome meeting planners, destination management companies, professional conference organisers, suppliers, and Business Events owners and buyers from anywhere in the world who are interested in doing business in Penang,” added Ashwin.

The conference is designed in tandem with the meetings and conference trends world-wide, bringing in expert speakers from around the globe to Penang to share their knowledge,” said Ashwin Gunasekeran, CEO of PCEB.

Headlining the conference is the Keynote Speaker Roy Sheppard, a specialist international conference facilitator/moderator. Roy Sheppard has a background as a BBC TV and radio journalist, reporter and presenter. Joining him is the ICCA Asia Pacific Chapter Chair Jason Yeh. He is the founder and CEO of GIS Group, a leading meeting solution provider in Taiwan. He also chairs the Taiwan Convention and Exhibition Association and advises the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Department of Economic Affairs.

Malaysian Business Events expert speakers include Ho Yoke Ping, Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau’s General Manager for Business Events and Chair of ICCA Malaysia Committee; Gracie Geckie, CEO of Place Borneo; and Fu Kei Cheong and Rahul Bharadwaj of Anderes Fourdy.

Among the topics that will be covered at BE @ Penang 2017 are technology in business events, effective bidding, attracting association meetings, marketing to Europe, and many more. Roy Sheppard would be conducting his highly-sought after CEO Deep Dive workshop for C-level executives.

BE @ Penang 2017 is owned by PCEB and is co-organised by Anderes Fourdy, one of Malaysia’s leading Professional Conference Organisers, who have been working hand-in-hand with the PCEB team on the programming and logistics of the conference.

The conference is supported by Setia SPICE Convention Centre (Official Venue), and partner hotels Hotel Equatorial Penang, Olive Tree Penang, and Vistana Hotel Penang.
