Genting Cruise Lines begins river conveyance of World Dream

Dream Cruises’ newest ship embarks on journey to Asian homeports to deliver enriching Dream Experiences.

Genting Cruise Lines announced the official river conveyance of World Dream, the newest ship for the Dream Cruises fleet. Taking place on Sunday, 17 September in Papenburg, Germany, the river conveyance marks the official start of World Dream’s journey from the Meyer Werft shipyard to her initial homeports in Guangzhou (Nansha), China and Hong Kong where she will begin service on 17 November 2017.

From the covered shipyard of Meyer Werft where the first steel cuts were made to begin construction of World Dream in February 2016, the ship will travel the river Ems en route to its first destination in Eemshaven, Netherlands to undergo initial testing and then further to Bremerhaven, Germany for additional sea trials.
 
After World Dream’s official handover ceremony from Meyer Werft to Dream Cruises scheduled for 26 October, the ship will begin her epic ocean voyage that will take her from Germany to Gibraltar, through the Mediterranean Sea and the Suez Canal, across the Indian Ocean with visits to Sri Lanka and Singapore before ending at her new dual homeports in Hong Kong on 17 November and Guangzhou, China 19 November.
 
Dream Cruises’ newest addition, World Dream has been conceived as a floating high-end, integrated resort at sea, leveraging on Genting Cruise Lines’ extensive history and expertise from its cruise related businesses. The debut of World Dream will further enhance Dream Cruises’ capacity to offer a broad spectrum of multi-generational programs and facilities for guests, highlighted by exemplary heartfelt Asian hospitality and a market leading crew to guest ratio.
 
The 18-deck, 151,300 ton ship was designed from day one for an international cruise experience with authentic Asian characteristics. With a capacity of over 3,400 passengers, World Dream will be one of the most spacious and luxurious cruise ships in the region.

Eichensehr has shot portraits from Hillary Clinton to Kobe Bryant and has been published in FHM, G.Q., HK Bazaar, Marie Claire, Prestige, and Elle (China).
 
Shakespeare at Sea – 17th December
Shakespeare4All will be conducting fun, interactive workshops to help youngsters improve their language and public-speaking skills on board World Dream. Shakespeare4All is one of Hong Kong’s leading performing arts education organizations whose purpose is to build fluency and confidence in English by performing Shakespearean plays.
