Rolls-Royce congratulates THAI as aircraft delivery further develops ralationship

Rolls-Royce is continuing to support THAI’s 787-8 aircraft and is making progress in addressing recent engine issues which have affected its operations, with one remaining aircraft due to return to service by the middle of October.

Rolls-Royce congratulated THAI as it took delivery of its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, powered by Trent 1000 engines.

The delivery, which took place at Boeing in Seattle, USA, marks a further development of a relationship between Rolls-Royce and THAI that dates back more than 50 years and has seen THAI select every Rolls-Royce Trent engine type that is in service today. The Trent 1000 has powered the first flights of every version of the aircraft – the 787-8, 787-9 and 787-10.

THAI already operates six 787-8 aircraft, all powered by the Trent 1000 and all with Rolls-Royce’s flagship TotalCare® long-term service support.

Eric Schulz, Rolls-Royce, President – Civil Aerospace, said: “We warmly welcome THAI as a new operator of the 787-9 Dreamliner, powered by our Trent 1000 engines. THAI is an extremely valued customer and we look forward as it continues to expand its Dreamliner fleet.”

Rolls-Royce is continuing to support THAI’s 787-8 aircraft and is making progress in addressing recent engine issues which have affected its operations, with one remaining aircraft due to return to service by the middle of October.
