COTRI and ForwardKeys announce collaboration

New service gives business crucial insight into Chinese travel; ForwardKeys and COTRI strike deal to provide exclusive webinar information.

Hamburg – Businesses looking for much-needed data on Chinese travel patterns will soon be able to access analysis from two leading companies in the field – ForwardKeys and COTRI China Outbound Tourism Research Institute.

Both organisations are already supplying some of the world’s best intelligence on Chinese travel – ForwardKeys predicts future global travel patterns by analysing over 17 million booking transactions a day. COTRI is the leading independent research institute for information, training, quality assessment and consultancy relating to the Chinese outbound tourism market.

From now on, both parties will share information where appropriate – further increasing the value of their respective data products to businesses. One of the first joint ventures will be a quarterly webinar providing companies with all they need to know on Chinese outbound trends.

ForwardKeys co-founder and CEO, Olivier Jager said: “We know that business is hungry for accurate and reliable information on Chinese travel because the potential there is enormous. This new link-up with COTRI is a natural fit. We will be providing unique data, insight and advice.

COTRIs director Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Georg Arlt said: “Our main goal is to enable private companies and public institutions all over the world to offer successful high quality travel, tourism, and leisure services for Chinese visitors, according to their specific expectations and demands. ForwardKeys’ flight intelligence fits with that goal precisely.

The webinar will tackle the big themes and their implications, including the growth in travel during Chinese New Year and Golden Week, looking at flight bookings and destinations and providing precise numbers, both historic and forward-looking.  It will also go beyond the headlines, analysing why people are travelling, in what style and group numbers, as well as itineraries and individuals’ reactions. The webinars will be interactive and will allow participants to ask individual questions.

Olivier Jager concluded: “Our joint aim is to become an increasingly indispensable service for any company involved in international Chinese travel.
