Tourism Australia partners with ATEC on Health & Safety Checklist

This online platform provides a centralised depository of a tourism suppliers Health & Safety processes which can be accessed by travel wholesalers across the globe at any time.

The Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC) has announced Tourism Australia (TA) will use its OnlineHealth & Safety Checklist as a way of providing quality assurance for international media and trade familiarisations in Australia.

ATEC’s Online Health & Safety Checklist is an initiative developed by the industry in response to requests from international travel wholesalers and Australian inbound tourism operators, for a centralised platform for sharing health and safety due diligence information on Australian tourism products.

“This online platform provides a centralised depository of a tourism suppliers Health & Safety processes which can be accessed by travel wholesalers across the globe at any time,” ATEC Managing Director, Peter Shelley said.

“TA will now also use the system as away of ensuring the health and safety for those involved in its program of international famils.”

Tourism Australia’s Managing Director, John O’Sullivan said ATEC’s Online Health and Safety Checklist would assist in delivering safer familiarisations and events.

“The Checklist is an easy to access and easy to use platform for Australian tourism operators to demonstrate good risk management,” he said.

“We are pleased Tourism Australia has recognised the efficiency and value of this online portal and have employed it as part of their own due diligence for their international media hosting and other famil programs.”
