Yangon – It’s raining travel deals in Myanmar with the onset of the ‘Green Season‘. Previously regarded as the least attractive time to visit Myanmar, the monsoon season actually brings with it plenty of advantages to visit the Golden Land, from perfect weather to highly attractive transportation and accommodation deals particularly in the northern part of the country.

Rainfall between May and October in main tourist destinations up country such as Bagan, Mandalay, Northern Shan State, Kalaw and Inle Lake is comparatively much less. With an average 25 per cent chance of rain taking place in a short period of time, these areas benefit from the colder and less dry weather. Along with the pleasantly cool temperature comes the beautiful scenery of Myanmar’s verdant mountains and valleys, allowing tourists front-row seats at the country’s top attractions.

Maaike, a German tourist visiting Inle Lake in June said, “It’s my second time in Myanmar and grateful to experience the country this time of the year. It’s actually better to visit in June than in February when it’s busier and hotter.”

Carriers like Myanmar National Airlines have announced promotions for domestic flights as well as international flights into Yangon from cities like Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok.

MTM Executive Committee Member Edwin Briels said, “When it comes to Myanmar, off-season travel is all about advantages. You’ll get to enjoy the remarkable sights and cultural experiences more leisurely, without the usual hustle and bustle that comes with the high season. You’ll walk away with a unique, one-of-a-kind experience like no other. You might even enjoy unbelievable luxury for less.”
