Key Taiwan tourism delegation arrives in the Solomon Islands

A senior group of Taiwanese tourism and media representatives has arrived in Honiara, in order to promote Solomon Islands to Taiwan.

Honiara, Solomon Islands – Part of an going strategy to promote the Solomon Islandsto Taiwanese travellers, a senior group of Taiwanese tourism and media representatives has arrived in Honiara.

A joint venture between the Solomon Islands Ministry of Culture & Tourism, Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau, Solomon Airlines and the Solomon Islands Embassy in Taipei, the five-strong group’s program will include the opportunity to visit hotels and resorts in Honiara and the Western Province and also experience key cultural and historical activities in both areas.

The Taiwanese team will join with Australian and New Zealand counterparts at an official SIVB dinner at the Coral Seas Resort & Casino attended by Ministry of Culture & Tourism Permanent Secretary, Andrew Nihopara accompanied by Department of Tourism Director, Barney Sivoro and SIVB chair, Wilson Ne’e.

They have also been invited to participate in a ‘mini’ travel mart’ at Iron Bottom Sound on Thursday (06 July) when they will have the opportunity to join with the Australian and New Zealanders as they go face to face with 19 local tourism representatives.

The Taiwan team includes Tiger Tours President, Weng Hung-Jen; Tiger Tours Product Development Manager, Weng Sung-Jung; Air Cruise International Travel Services marketing Consutltant, Ms. Chao Rong-Rong; freelance travel writer, Li Meng Ru and Travel Trend Magazine President and Chief Editor, Wu, Hsueh-Ming,

Mr. Li is high profile on the Taiwan travel writing scene.

While in the Solomon Islands he will be collating material for several travel publications and blogs and also intends producing a short film intended to be shown to both consumers and travel agents at the Taiwan International Travel Fair taking place in Taipei in November.
