‘Glorious India Expo – The mega Indian trade expo in the US’ concluded on a high note

In sync with the global promotion of India's business and cultural strengths, Glorious India Expo presented a bouquet of opportunities for Indian business and culture that went exceedingly well with the visitors at the event.

AHMEDABAD, INDIA and EDISON, NEW JERSEY – Glorious India Expo, the two-day mega Indian show organized by Praveg Communications Limited on 27th-28th May, concluded amidst unprecedented enthusiasm and new hopes for Indian business and the cultural fraternity in Edison, New Jersey.

The event was marked with impressive participation of the Indian community in the US and witnessed attendance of many dignitaries, including representatives from US government offices and business fraternity. There was a remarkable turnout of visitors representing various states of India, including Gujarat, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Haryana, Karnataka and Rajasthan at the Expo, making it a truly big Indian event.

In sync with the global promotion of India’s business and cultural strengths, Glorious India Expo presented a bouquet of opportunities for Indian business and culture that went exceedingly well with the visitors at the event. The event was marked with the august presence of the Event Chair, Digvijay Gaekwad and Event Co-Chair, Dr. Raj Bhayani, whose valuable support to Glorious India Expo enhanced the level of the event immensely.

Digvijay Gaekwad, eminent entrepreneur from the US, inaugurated Glorious India Expo on 27th May 2017 amidst other dignitaries representing the industrial and cultural spectrum of the American community. Around 130 exhibitors representing garments, jewellery, real estate, handicrafts, food products and IT services participated in the trade exposition and witnessed large number of visitors, including decision makers, prospective buyers and investors in Indian businesses.  

There was an impressive set up of large-sized panels displaying Indian tourist places, serving as the popular photo spots for many visitors. Another line-up of photo corners displaying popular tourist destinations in India also offered fun and memorable photo opportunities to many visitors.

On the occasion, Glorious India Awards were presented to eminent NRIs for their exemplary contribution in their respective fields, including Academics, Science & Technology, Entrepreneurship, Culture, Art, Media and Entertainment. The eminent awardees included Jagdish Bhagwati – the renowned economist, H.R. Shah – Chairman & CEO, TV Asia; Digvijay Gaekwad – leading entrepreneur of the US and Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt – Grammy-winning Indian musician, to name a few.

Women entrepreneurs from India were also presented with awards for their inspiring and courageous pursuits in business.

Cultural programmes at Glorious India Expo were marked with participation of many eminent artists from India and cultural performances by various Indian community associations in the US. The programmes featured a fascinating array of folk dances and group performances from the States like Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Gujarat and Rajasthan. The eternally refreshing Bollywood songs by popular artists from India enthralled the audience and offered magical, memorable and mesmerizing moments – one which came after a long time for many. Excellent synchronization of light, sound and special effects catapulted the already impressive artists’ performances to the next level.

The highlight of the Glorious India cultural programmes was the scintillating performances by the Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt (Grammy-winning Hindustani classical music instrumentalist), Pandit Krishna Mohan Bhatt (Sitar maestro), George Brooks (Grammy-winning saxophonist) and Nihar Mehta (Well-known Tabla Player in Hindustani classical music). The veteran musicians gave mesmerizing performances one by one and left the audience spellbound and infused with the proud feeling of being an Indian.

Marking the culmination the two-day Indian mega show, Kabir Cafe Band, the Indian band that brings alive the poetic works of Kabir infused with rock, pop, reggae and fusion, gave a riveting performance on their maiden official trip to the US and got the crowd to their feet and sway to their rhythm.

In line with the Praveg’s vision to constantly evolve new formats of business and cultural events that appeal to the international audience and promote India’s strengths and dignity across the world, the Team Glorious India will revisit the US with a world-class Indian Show, much larger in terms of scale and scope, very soon.
