Launch of shuttle bus service between Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal and Changi Airport

Passengers may board the shuttle buses at TMFT or Terminal 2 at Changi Airport. These buses will run eight return services on weekdays and 10 return services on weekends.

SINGAPORE – Changi Airport Group (CAG) and Singapore Cruise Centre (SCC) announced the launch of a new shuttle bus service that will operate between Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal (TMFT) and Changi Airport. The initiative, a joint effort by CAG and SCC, seeks to improve connectivity for passengers who travel to and from Changi Airport and the Riau Islands of Batam and Bintan in Indonesia.

Passengers may board the shuttle buses at TMFT or Terminal 2 at Changi Airport. These buses will run eight return services on weekdays and 10 return services on weekends. One-way trips are priced at S$2 each. SCC’s CEO Ms Christina Siaw said: “We are pleased to be able to launch this shuttle bus service so that ferry passengers can enjoy a fuss-free and seamless travel experience between Batam, Bintan and Changi Airport. This is part of SCC’s commitment to work with our partners to deliver outstanding service to those who use our cruise and ferry port facilities.”

Mr Lim Ching Kiat, Managing Director of Air Hub Development at CAG, said: “As a well-connected international air hub with over 380 city links, Changi Airport

We are happy to partner SCC in launching this new shuttle bus service, which provides greater convenience for our fly-ferry passengers travelling to and from these destinations via Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal – which is in close proximity to Changi Airport. This initiative is also part of CAG’s efforts to meet the growing demand for multi-modal transportation for our passengers.”

Last December, SCC, together with ferry operator Majestic Fast Ferry, also launched a new ferry route between TMFT and Batam Centre. Prior to the launch, the terminal primarily served passengers travelling between Singapore and Bintan, as well as Nongsapura on the north-eastern tip of Batam where many resorts and golf courses are situated.

Currently, Majestic Fast Ferry offers four trips daily on weekdays and five trips daily on weekends and public holidays.

SCC also plans to launch another new ferry route between TMFT and Harbour Bay terminal in Batam with BatamFast Ferry. The service is expected to commence in July 2017.
