EXPO 2017 to surprise guests with a cultural program

During EXPO 2017, visitors will be able to enjoy concerts of the State Ensemble of Classical Music "Camerata Kazakhstan", which has performed in more than 10 countries.

ASTANA, Kazakhstan – The EXPO 2017 exhibition “Future Energy” in Astana will open with a grand show “The Great Steppe Symphony” which will astonish guests with its scale and variety.

The organizers of the exhibition have prepared an exciting cultural program for tourists. Guests of EXPO 2017 will enjoy festivals, parades, and performances given by leading classical and popular musicians from Kazakhstan, Italy, France, Germany, Great Britain, Russia and other countries. There will be over three thousand exciting and memorable events for guests from all over the world.

From June 16 through September 9, as part of the Astana EXPO 2017 exhibition, there will be 71 performances of the unique REFLEKT show by the world-famous Cirque du Soleil.

Guests will certainly be impressed by performances of famous Kazakh groups. During EXPO 2017, visitors will be able to enjoy concerts of the State Ensemble of Classical Music “Camerata Kazakhstan”, which has performed in more than 10 countries. A concert given by the legendary Kazakh State Academic Orchestra of Folk Instruments named after Kurmangazy, which is over 80 years old, will certainly be worth attending. The orchestra regularly gives concerts in the largest cities of Europe, America, China, and the CIS countries. Guests will also enjoy the Spirit of Tengri, a wonderful festival of ethnic music, exciting concerts of the folk-ethnographic orchestra “Otyrar sazy”, and performances of the Magic of Nomads group and Zhaniya Aubakirova, the famous pianist.

Astana will become the world’s cultural capital for the entire summer. Concerts, exhibitions and theatrical performances will also take place at the main venues of Kazakhstan’s capital. The singer Dimash Kudaibergenov will give a performance at the Astana Arena stadium.

Placido Domingo, the Spanish opera singer, and Federico Paciotti, the talented Italian tenor and virtuoso guitarist, have also planned to give performances in Astana. An exciting staging of “Aida” opera produced by Franco Zeffirelli, the eminent contemporary director and scenographer of La Scala opera house in Milan, will take place in the square in front of the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation.

History lovers will see rare exhibitions. At the end of June, artifacts from the tomb of Tutankhamun, including the pharaoh’s gilded cart encrusted with semi-precious stones and his throne, will be brought to Astana. And in June, the National Museum will host an exhibition of the Terracotta Army of Qin Shi Huang.
