Meituan-Dianping will host speed-dating event during ITB China

The Networking event will take place on 10 May 2017 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm in Meeting Room 1 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Conference Center and will be limited to 100 suppliers.

SHANGHAI – Meituan-Dianping will host a speed-dating event on the first day of ITB China(10 to 12 May 2017), the new marketplace for the Chinese travel industry, to meet destinations, travel service and travel technology provider from all over the world to seek potential partnership. The event will enable buyers to establish valuable links with Meituan- Dianping in the shortest possible time. With the synergy of its hotel and tourism unit and its catering unit, Meituan-Dianping aims at working with top-ranked travel service providers to become a one-stop full-service app for China’s consumers. Via this one-to-one meeting platform, global destinations, travel service and technology providers from all over the world can have a direct talk with Meituan-Dianping representatives to seize a long partnership.

Meituan-Dianping, China’s largest lifestyle service provider, has around 600 million online users and 4.5 million partners, whose service covers around 2800 cities in China. The company has been developing in the travel sector since 2013. Meituan-Dianping posted more than 130 million hotel room nights in 2016. The company sold 67 million attraction tickets during the time. Air tickets sold on the platform exceeded two million and train tickets topped eight million, according to data provided by the company.

Meituan-Dianping’s data reflect the continued robust growth of China’s outbound travel in 2017. The company’s apps draw hundreds of thousands of overseas users daily and its DaZhongDianPing app has become one of the most popular lifestyle service apps for Chinese nationals when they are overseas.

Meituan-Dianping’s hotel and tourism business unit announced on February 13, 2017 that the company has set up overseas accommodation service on its Meituan app and DaZhongDianPing app, providing users with more than 120,000 properties in over 5,000 cities worldwide for booking.

ITB China will take place from 10 to 12 May 2017 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Conference Center. The event, an international offshoot of one of Messe Berlin’s most successful trade fairs, will take place annually and focus on the Chinese travel industry. Its co-organiser is TravelDaily China, a leading online news portal and organiser of travel industry conferences in Asia’s largest country.
