Sens Asia unveils immersive journeys for travellers in Northern Vietnam

Participants have the opportunity to reconnect with nature while staying in traditional stilt houses and sharing meals with the resident Muong people.

HONG KONG – Sens Asia Travel, the innovative travel operator focusing on sensory experiences, has announced two one-of-a-kind journeys throughout Northern Vietnam designed to delight participants’ scent, sight, sound, touch and taste while providing a unique glimpse into local life.

Both itineraries place indigenous flavours, local customs, transportation, accommodation and off-the-beaten-path attractions front and centre to offer a unique experience travellers simply couldn’t create on their own.

Set in the Red River Delta, the “3-Day Northern Vietnam Rural Life” itinerary reveals Vietnam’s time-honoured village life to travellers dreaming of connecting with the country’s unique places and people. Starting in Hanoi with a flavourful introduction to Vietnam through a tropical fruit tasting at a vibrant local market, participants then travel to the rural district of Giao Thuy in Nam D?nh Province, a destination rarely visited by foreign travellers.

Giao Thuy’s appeal is woven into the daily lives of its residents who have developed a rich local heritage of festivals and folk songs. Guests are accommodated at a welcoming homestay and enjoy visits to local museums, a boat ride to nearby floating clam huts, and cycling excursions through small villages and the mangrove-filled Xuan Thuy National Park.

Alternatively, travellers can also choose Sens Asia Travel’s “4-Day Northern Vietnam Off the Beaten Track” experience to explore the mesmerising mountains surrounding Hanoi and soak up both city and village life.

“Vietnam has a special way of awakening one’s senses regardless of the destination. These new experiences featuring the rich culture, cuisine and scenery of Northern Vietnam have been thoughtfully curated to tantalise the senses every step of the way,” said Managing Director Sens Asia Travel, Ms. Bui Ngoc Linh.

“Personally, I love the Muong culture and their wise sense of life, the way they locate their villages near the water, closely and intimately with nature, the valleys and hillsides – their cuisine, rural and sustainable architecture and way of living. I visited Ngoc Son Ngo Luong first five years ago and keep coming back. I believe travellers will also fall in love with this place,” said Ms. Bui Ngoc Linh.

Showcasing the region’s stunning natural scenery and cultural heritage, journey highlights include discovering the Old Town and French Quarter in Hanoi in a cyclo before travelling to the remote Ngoc Son Ngo Luong Nature Reserve which is framed by jungle-covered peaks, brilliant green rice terraces and cascading waterfalls.

Participants have the opportunity to reconnect with nature while staying in traditional stilt houses and sharing meals with the resident Muong people. From the reserve, the journey continues on to Ninh Binh to marvel at lush green valleys and impressive karst cliffs that rival those of Halong Bay. After soaking up the scents, sights and sounds while being rowed through Tam Coc, known as the region’s most beautiful valley, guests finish their stay at an exclusive eco lodge.

Launched in October 2016, Sens Asia Travel offers a range of unprecedented tours throughout 11 countries in Southeast Asia allowing intrepid travellers the opportunity to dive deep into destinations with a different perspective than other travel offerings on the market. Although a new company, Sens Asia Travel already has a profound understanding of the region along with strong local relationships, thanks to its parent company, HG Holdings.

“At Sens Asia Travel we’re dedicated to providing immersive, sensory journeys today’s travellers can’t find anywhere else placing prominence not only on a memorable trip, but captivating the senses and creating meaningful connections. We work closely with local communities and providers to tailor truly original and authentic experiences that guests will cherish for years to come,” she added.
