Vietjet Air and Bangkok Airways bans the carrying of Samsung Galaxy Note 7

The announcement for the ban followed an order from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam on 17th October 2016

SINGAPORE – Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (“Vietjet”) and Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited has officially announced that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is now prohibited on any flight operated by the airlines. This includes carry-on baggage, checked baggage as well as all cargo services.
 
The announcement followed an order from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam on 17th October 2016 and recommendations from the European Safety Agency (EASA) and the Federal Aviation Administration.
 
Vietjet had previously made an announcement on 12th September, 2016 banning the transportation of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 in checked baggage.
 
In accordance with the recent announcement from the U.S. Department of Transport (DOT), passengers of Bangkok Airways are not allowed to carry Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones on-board, nor stow the devices in checked baggagge.
