Explorient launches new Pokemon Go tours to Asia

Explorient will be launching the travel industry's first Pokémon Go tours to Asia beginning with Japan and Hong Kong with other Asian destinations to follow.

UNITED STATES – Explorient Travel Services, Inc., a leading tour operator that designs and delivers high-end vacation experiences throughout the Asia and the Pacific Rim, will be launching the travel industry’s first Pokémon Go tours to Asia beginning with Japan and Hong Kong with other Asian destinations to follow.

Since the initial rollout out of Pokémon Go in July 2016, this location-based reality game instantly became a worldwide phenomenon. It has inspired millions across the globe to get outside, explore different places and socialize with one another in effort to capture the coolest and rarest monsters from around the world. Starting in September 2016, Explorient will be rolling out a suite of “Pokémon Go” Tours that enable travelers to experience Asia in a whole new way, motivating travelers young and old to go places they otherwise probably never see: local parks & hangouts, off-the-grid landmarks, even the ice-cream or coffee joints known only to the local folk. No longer will young travelers complain about being tired or bored on long tours and airport layovers – in fact, they now look forward to them. With their beloved Pokémon friends, PokeGyms and PokesStops accompanying them every step of the way, traveling with kids just got a lot easier.

Consistent with Explorient’s tour offerings throughout Asia, these Pokémon Go Tours will feature a mixture of mid to high-end accommodations, family-oriented itineraries that cater to travelers of all ages, and expert private guides that are avid Pokémon Goplayers themselves. These uniquely crafted itineraries cover both the must-sees as well as off-the-tourist-path “Pokémon hunting” spots, enabling travelers to mingle with like-minded locals and foreigners alike that truly transcend cultural and language barriers. And since public transportation is heavily utilized on these tours, it encourages the traveler to immerse in the local culture while giving them the tools to navigate the city on their own during their free time.

As an example, the Pokémon Go Japan Tour covers the heritage sites of Tokyo and Kyoto including Meiji Shrine, Sensoji Temple, Golden Pavilion and Gion District while boasting interesting activities such as a bicycle tour in Kyoto, a visit to the bustling Tsukiji Fish Market and hitting some Otaku (anime) hotpots around Tokyo including a treat at one of Akihabara’s “Maid Cafes”. Explorient’s Pokémon Go Hong Kong Tour hits Victoria Peak, Temple Street Night Market, rides on Star Ferry and the iconic double decker Hong Kong Tramway, as well as a night harbor cruise to experience world’s largest permanent light show – Symphony of the Lights. For mobile access, the packages also include pocket wi-fi rental and/or a prepaid SIM cards so Pokémon players have all the tools they need to fill up their Pokedex.

After the initial launch, Explorient plans to expand their Pokémon Go tours to other regions of Asia as the game continues to gain momentum. Beyond these packages, since the vast majority of Explorient’s tours are private, Pokémon Go themed excursions can be incorporated into just about any city where the app is available.
