Marco Polo Hotels appoints Antonio Teijeiro as Group Director of Rooms

Antonio Teijeiro has a great experience in tourism because he has worked with international hotel brands across China, Dubai, Canada, Portugal and Spain.

HONG KONG – Marco Polo Hotels has appointed seasoned hotelier Mr. Antonio Teijeiro as Group Director of Rooms.

A Spanish national, Antonio has worked with international hotel brands across China, Dubai, Canada, Portugal and Spain. His most recent position was General Manager of Wanda Vista Resort in Xishuangbanna, China, the first high-end luxury resort under the Wanda group.

There, he led a pre-opening team of 30 managers and over 300 staff and successfully implemented new measures that resulted in increased guest satisfaction and hotel performance. As a result, the hotel received several awards of distinction including “Wanda Group Hotel of the Year 2015” and “Most Anticipated New Hotel” by Travel+ Magazine.

Antonio was also the pre-opening General Manager of Marriott Shunde in Guangzhou, China – his first role as a general manager. Prior to this, he was Beijing and Tianjin Rooms Cluster Manager for 12 properties across five Marriott brands, totaling over 4,100 rooms.

“As our hotel portfolio continues to grow, our need for improved guest experience becomes more evident,” said Dr. Jennifer Cronin, President of Marco Polo Hotels. “Having Antonio lead our Rooms divisions across each of our hotels is an important boost that will continue to keep Marco Polo as a strong competitor of other international hotel brands. To have someone with such extensive experience at the property level will only improve our guest experience across all Marco Polo and Niccolo hotels.”

Niccolo, the luxury brand launched by Marco Polo Hotels is still enjoying the success story of its first hotel, Niccolo Chengdu. There are three more Niccolo hotels in the pipeline, beginning with Niccolo Chongqing, Niccolo Changsha and Niccolo Suzhou.
