JNTO launches Instagram photo contest in the U.S.

The winner and guest will receive a special customized trip to Japan arranged by JNTO. The prize includes round trip coach airfare, a 3-day traditional experience in Kyoto including an unforgettable Geisha dinner, a premier shadowing experience of an executive chef at a Kaiseki restaurant (traditional Japanese cuisine), exclusive access to Kyoto's historical temples, a luxurious stay at one of Kyoto's most prestigious celebrity-coveted Ryokan (traditional Japanese inns) and more.

NEW YORK – Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) is launching the Discover Japan Photo Contest in cooperation with National Geographic Partners starting August 1st, 2016. All legal residents in the United States* are invited to submit their own favorite sites and experiences of Japan on Instagram, and the grand-prize-winner will receive a customized trip for two to Japan with exclusive access to the unique sites of the skyscraper city of Tokyo and the ancient city of Kyoto.
 
Eligible contestants can enter the contest by posting their best shots of Japan on their Instagram account using the hashtag #DiscoverJapanContest in the caption. The Contest began at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) on Monday, August 1, 2016 and ends at 11:59 ET on August 31, 2016. The winner and guest will receive a special customized trip to Japan arranged by JNTO. The prize includes round trip coach airfare, a 3-day traditional experience in Kyoto including an unforgettable Geisha dinner, a premier shadowing experience of an executive chef at a Kaiseki restaurant (traditional Japanese cuisine), exclusive access to Kyoto’s historical temples, a luxurious stay at one of Kyoto’s most prestigious celebrity-coveted Ryokan (traditional Japanese inns) and more. The prize trip will continue with an additional 3-day contemporary experience in Tokyo, exploring its top sites and shopping districts. Lastly, the stunning night views of Tokyo from a private helicopter await to conclude the ultimate experience. The winner and a guest will be escorted by an English-speaking guide in a private car to fully enjoy the superb Japanese hospitality and services throughout the trip.
 
Judging consists of evaluation based on three criteria:
– Theme
– Creativity & Originality
– Photographic Quality
