SWISS increases capacity in Bangkok with new flagship Boeing 777-300ER

The new SWISS Boeing 777-300ER offers 340 seats: 8 in First Class, 62 in Business Class and 270 in Economy Class. And the totally-redesigned cabin interior of the new SWISS flagship will provide comfort and aesthetics to meet the most discerning of demands in all three seating classes, including wireless internet connectivity.

On 16 July, SWISS commences daily flight to Bangkok with brand new cabin products on the Boeing 777-300ER, replacing the existing Airbus A340-300. SWISS’s capacity on Bangkok route will increase by more than one third.

“This is a key milestone in the history of SWISS and we are very proud to bring this accomplishment to our customers and partners in Thailand,” said Mr. Peter Pullem, SWISS Vice President Sales and Marketing International. He continued, “With the latest flagship addition to our fleet, we offer more privacy, comfort, space and entertainment to our customers. As the airline of Switzerland, SWISS embodied the country’s traditional values, and is committed to delivering the highest quality of product and services.”

Mr. Peter Pullem, SWISS Vice President Sales and Marketing International, shared SWISS’ latest success of its commencement of daily flights to Bangkok with new flagship Boeing 777-300ER.

Mr. Dirk Grossmann, General Manager Passenger Sales Thailand and the Mekong Region for Lufthansa Group said, “Again, it is great news for the Group in Thailand with SWISS bringing in the flagship Boeing B777-300ER after we successfully introduced Eurowings into the Thai market late last year.” He added, “This has proven that we have a strong and steady growth and demand in this region and Bangkok continues to be the important Asian hub for the Lufthansa Group.”

To meet travelers’ differing needs, SWISS offers three data packages for its inflight internet option. The 20MB SWISS Connect data package, costing CHF 9, is intended for those wishing to check their emails or visit a few websites; the 50MB package at CHF 19 is more for travelers seeking to surf their social networks or use the internet to work; and the 120MB package at CHF 39 provides even more flexibility and the opportunity to make almost full use (apart from streaming) of the internet’s scope and possibilities. As for the First Class customers, SWISS provides a 50 MB SWISS Connect data package free of charge.

The SWISS First Class seat is transformable into the occupant’s own private suite that includes a 32-inch screen, the largest in the industry. SWISS First Class guests can also enjoy electrically-adjustable window blinds and their own personal wardrobe.

SWISS Business Class offers optimum privacy and freedom of movement, while the seat cushion’s firmness can be individually regulated. SWISS Economy Class guests are able to make use of a self-service kiosk that offers a wide range of drinks and snacks. And thanks to its state-of-the-art engines, the new twinjet has been proven to deliver sizeable savings in both fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.

Additionally, as part of its “Next-Generation Airline of Switzerland” strategy, SWISS is further strengthening its commitment to being an attractive and appreciative employer, not least to raise its appeal to prospective new personnel. The company’s new “employer value proposition” aims to make SWISS the employer of first choice within the European airline industry, and to enhance its employer credentials beyond the air transport sector, too.

It is to underline this commitment that the company has launched its “Faces of SWISS” action, under which its first Boeing 777-300ER, will carry a special livery featuring the faces of over 2,500 SWISS personnel for its first year of operation. The photos used to create the new livery were all personally submitted by the employees concerned; and every one of them has found its place on the fuselage.
