EVA Air completes move to Amadeus Altéa Revenue Management Suite

By migrating to the Amadeus Altéa Revenue Management Suite, the airline will now benefit from a next generation solution that unlike legacy revenue management systems, takes into account the travellers’ entire journey from origin to destination, not simply managing revenue on a leg-by-leg basis.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Amadeus and EVA Air, a Star Alliance member recently awarded the prestigious 5-Star Airline Ranking by SKYTRAX, celebrate the airline’s successful migration to the Amadeus Altéa Revenue Management Suite.

EVA Air has been ramping up global expansion since mid-2015, with new destinations and increased flights on certain routes. This year alone it has launched direct flights to Istanbul and Cebu, with non-stop Chicago-Taipei flights to commence in November. The carrier has also said it will take delivery of a total of 13 new planes this year. As its footprint grows, optimising revenue across the entire network and maximising route yield will be critical to boosting overall profitability. By migrating to the Amadeus Altéa Revenue Management Suite, the airline will now benefit from a next generation solution that unlike legacy revenue management systems, takes into account the travellers’ entire journey from origin to destination, not simply managing revenue on a leg-by-leg basis.

The Amadeus Altéa Revenue Management Suite will enable EVA Air to accurately and intelligently price airline packages and offers, based on travellers’ price sensitivity and travel purpose.

Moving to the Amadeus’ Altéa Revenue Management Suite is a significant milestone for us,” said Richard Tseng, Deputy Senior Vice President, EVA Air. “As our network grows in size and complexity, optimising the revenue from each flight becomes increasingly critical, but also challenging. This system can provide constructive recommendations to revenue analysts on how to maximise revenue, and this is why we have chosen to partner with Amadeus. Implementation projects of this magnitude are never easy, but we are very impressed with the professionalism and expertise of the Amadeus team in ensuring a smooth migration. With their commitment on the technology front and full support to our business development, we expect we will see the benefits very soon.

The move to O&D Revenue Management poses major challenges for airlines today. The business must be ready to embrace the solution, and the airline’s commercial team needs to work closely with all stakeholders in order to achieve the revenue objectives. Amadeus takes a comprehensive view of O&D transformation, and has designed the O&D Business Transformation Programme for EVA Air to help the airline transition to O&D revenue management more effectively and efficiently, and this will foster best practices to help keep EVA Air at the leading edge of network revenue maximisation.

Hazem Hussein, Executive Vice President, Airline Group, Amadeus Asia Pacific, commented, “Amadeus’ longstanding partnership with EVA Air grows from strength to strength, and we couldn’t be more proud to support the airline’s ambitions as their chosen technology partner. The airline’s smooth migration to the Altéa Revenue Management Suite is testament to the close collaboration between Amadeus and EVA Air. With the most advanced revenue management technology, we are confident EVA Air will be in a powerful position to grow its revenue for years to come.
