ICCA in pursuit of Asia Pacific’s brightest millennials

The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) Asia Pacific Chapter and Sarawak Convention Bureau is on the lookout for exceptional young leaders who are passionate and enthusiastic in the Business Events circuit to be a part of the Asia Pacific Young Professional Development Programme.

KUCHING – Five dynamic individuals under the age of 30 stand the chance to win a free seat at the 2016 ICCA Congress – the most influential conference for the Business Events profession – which takes place in Kuching, Sarawak this November 2016. 
 
The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) Asia Pacific Chapter and Sarawak Convention Bureau is on the lookout for exceptional young leaders who are passionate and enthusiastic in the Business Events circuit to be a part of the Asia Pacific Young Professional Development Programme.
 
Winners will receive free conference registration for the 2016 ICCA Congress, 5 night’s accommodation during the congress, transfer, a cash grant of up to RM4,500.00 towards air fare costs to Kuching, the capital city of the island of Sarawak, Borneo.
 
“We firmly believe that the future of meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions lies with millennials under the age of 30. With their innovativeness and unconventional ideas, they have the ability to transform the landscape of this sector,” explained Mr. Chew Chang Guan, General Manager of the Government and Industry Relations for the Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB).
 
SCB, Sarawak’s official government agency for Business Events, was one of the key players behind the winning bid in securing Sarawak to play host for the 2016 ICCA Congress.
 
“ICCA Congress 2016 will see a large gathering of international global leaders in the business events profession. The young professionals in this Asia Pacific Young Professional Development Programme will proceed to forge relationships, establish connections and garner valuable experiences which will slingshot their career to a new trajectory of growth,” commented Managing Director of SCB, Mr. Mike Cannon.
 
In order to qualify for the Asia Pacific Young Professional Development Programme, applicants would need to be under the age of 30 and is currently employed by an ICCA member. To stand a chance to win, applicants are urged to provide a WOW factor in their submissions and send them in by 31st July 2016.
