Monte Carlo Yachts arrive at Thailand’s Ocean Marina

Home of the Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat Show, award-winning Top of the Gulf Regatta and a leading proponent of marine tourism in the Gulf of Thailand, Ocean Marina is the premier full-service marina and lifestyle facility in Thailand's Gulf.

PATTAYA, Thailand – The rising importance of the Gulf of Thailand was further underscored recently with the sale of two luxury Monte Carlo Yachts into the region and a visit to Ocean Marina by Managing Director of Monte Carlo Yachts, Mr. Fabrizio Iarrera, to see first hand the world-class onshore facilities and offshore cruising potential that is attracting more and more luxury boats to the region each year.

Home of the Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat Show, award-winning Top of the Gulf Regatta and a leading proponent of marine tourism in the Gulf of Thailand, Ocean Marina is the premier full-service marina and lifestyle facility in Thailand’s Gulf, and the largest marina in South East Asia with a wet berth capacity of 380 boats upto 50 metres, complemented by hardstand, dry storage, travel lifts up to 75 tons, onsite accommodation and restaurants.

“We were very happy to welcome Fabrizio and his team to Ocean Marina recently – the first time he has visited this region. I’m sure after seeing the onshore facilities first hand and the offshore cruising potential, he can appreciate why the two new Monte Carlo Yachts, and many more luxury yachts, are basing themselves here,” said Mr. Scott Finsten, Harbour Master, Ocean Marina.

The MCY 86 and MC 6 arrive at Ocean Marina on the back of the Norman Foster-designed superyacht Ocean Emerald which has chosen to base itself at Ocean Marina for the charter season, as well as many other yachts.

“While Ocean Marina’s onshore facilities are unrivaled in the region, it is our location – approximately one hour from Bangkok and the international gateway airport as well as being nearby U-Tapao airport, which is expanding and seeing increased international airlift – and the relatively untapped potential of the Gulf of Thailand’s sailing grounds – from Pattaya down the coast to Koh Chang and further to the untouched cruising grounds of Cambodia – that continues to attract more boats to the region,” added Mr. Finsten.

The Gulf of Thailand offers spectacular cruising with 187 islands dotted along the coastline, 43 of which are within one hour by boat from Ocean Marina, and as a platform to showcase the region’s marine assets to the world, the fifth Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat Show will take place 24th to 27th November. Launched in 2013, the show has grown to become a key event in the international marine calendar attracting leading boat, marine product and luxury lifestyle brands each year, and in 2016 will welcome a display of Monte Carlo Yachts for the first time.

“The Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat Show, while relatively young at just five years old, has really helped to position the Gulf of Thailand as a key marine destination in the region. Each year we are seeing more interest from international brands and products to exhibit, and are this year very excited to be welcoming Monte Carlo Yachts to the impressive in-water display for the first time,” added Mr. Finsten.
