Official Solomon Islands Government statistics released this week show a total of 1799 international visitors arrived across the month compared to the 1750 recorded for the same period in 2015.

Australian numbers again dominated, the 763 figure recorded representing a 1.1 per cent increase on 2015 and claiming 43.5 per cent of all visitation.

Once again Asian numbers showed the strongest growth, the 278 figure recorded for the month indicating a 30.5 per cent increase over the 213 figure recorded in April 2015.

SIVB CEO, Josefa ‘Jo’ Tuamoto again attributed the strong increase in Asian numbers to the efforts his team have gone to in recent times attending major travel industry events in Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.
