Ian Hurst named General Manager for Best Western Premier Genting Ion Delemen

KUALA LUMPUR – Bringing nearly 30 years of hospitality experience, Ian Hurst joined Best Western Premier Genting Ion Delemen effective 7 March 2016 as the General Manager. In his exciting new position, Ian will oversee the pre-opening efforts of the hotel through its official launch. Prior to joining the Best Western Premier Genting Ion Delemen, Ian served as General Manager of the Ramada Plaza Kuala Lumpur, where he led the rebranding process of the property from Best Western Premier Dua Sentral to Ramada Plaza Kuala Lumpur. Known for his leadership qualities and appreciated by the team members as a visionary and a people’s person, the property received several awards and accolades under Ian’s leadership.
 

With an international career background, Ian has a wealthy of hospitality management experience across the United Kingdom, Shanghai, Bangkok, Jakarta, Sydney, an island resort in the Sychelles as well as the Middle East where he has held a variety of senior management positions across an upscale property portfolio that includes The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Crowne Plaza London – St. James (United Kingdom) and Taj 51 Buckingham Gate Suites and Residences (United Kingdom).
 

Although he was born in Tanzania, East Africa, an Australian he has spent almost half of his life in travelling around the world, Ian is a customer-focused leader who sets high standards for customer service, combined with a strong emphasis on employee engagement and at the same time capitalizes on opportunities to leverage and bolster growth, which he consideres to be key to the success of any hotel.
