TCEB enhances Thailand’s leadership position as premiere meetings and incentives in North Asian markets

As part of TCEB’s North Asia Sales Mission 2016, the bureau hosted ‘Thailand Networking Receptions’ on 24 and 26 February 2016, in collaboration with the Taipei and Hong Kong SAR offices of TAT, as well as the Thailand Trade and Economic Office in Taipei and the Thai Consulate Office in Hong Kong SAR.

The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization), or TCEB, recently joined hands with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in the Amazing Thailand Road Show to Taiwan – Hong Kong 2016 to raise awareness of the Thai MICE industry’s capabilities to host world-class meetings and incentives events, while bolstering the Kingdom’s positive image as a premiere meetings and incentives destination at the heart of the fast-growing ASEAN region.
 
As part of TCEB’s North Asia Sales Mission 2016, the bureau hosted ‘Thailand Networking Receptions’ on 24 and 26 February 2016, in collaboration with the Taipei and Hong Kong SAR offices of TAT, as well as the Thailand Trade and Economic Office in Taipei and the Thai Consulate Office in Hong Kong SAR. Over the course of the North Asian Sales Mission, TCEB met with more than 80 key influential MICE agents in Taiwan and more than 100 in Hong Kong.


 
TCEB’s sales missions to Taiwan and Hong Kong were of great significance to TCEB, as they were the bureau’s first joint events in these locations. The pride we felt in deepening our engagement with Taiwan and Hong Kong is matched by the high potential of both as business events source markets for Thailand. Thanks to close bilateral ties, and regular direct flights to Bangkok and top destinations in Thailand, the growth outlook for further expansion of the relationship is bright.
 
With Taiwan as an emerging and high growth market, and Hong Kong as one of Thailand’s top ten meetings and incentives source markets in Asia, the TCEB North Asia Sales Mission 2016 served as an effective platform to build on the strong and long-standing relationships between the business events industries in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Thailand, while helping to enhance confidence in Thailand even further, building on our positive image among business communities across North Asia.
 
The bureau is confident that its strategic partnerships, campaigns and promotions, its relationships with Taiwan and Hong Kong, and the Thai business events sector, will continue to grow strongly in 2016.
