Hawaiian Airlines praises expanded access to Tokyo

The aviation agreement finalized in Tokyo allows U.S. air carriers to fly into and out of Haneda during daylight hours.

HONOLULU – Hawaiian Airlines congratulated the U.S. government on reaching an agreement with the Government of Japan for expanded access to Haneda International Airport in Tokyo. The aviation agreement finalized in Tokyo allows U.S. air carriers to fly into and out of Haneda during daylight hours. It also paves the way for two additional slot pairs, one daytime and one nighttime, between Haneda and U.S. cities.

As the premier carrier between Tokyo and Honolulu, we are well acquainted with the importance of strengthening open skies agreements between Japan and the United States,” said Mark Dunkerley, president and CEO of Hawaiian Airlines. “This accord reached will mean increased traffic from Tokyo to points in the United States, which in turn creates American jobs and improves convenience and choice for air travelers.

Hawaiian Airlines, which flies daily between Haneda and Honolulu International Airport, inaugurates daily service between Honolulu and Tokyo’s Narita International Airport in July.
