Amari hosts Asia golf tournaments in Pattaya and Hua Hin in March 2016

The Amari Pattaya Golf Week and the Amari Hua Hin Golf Week include four rounds of golf at Championship venues and nightly social and entertainment events.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Almost 100 club golfers from 10 countries are expected to participated at the Amari Pattaya Golf Week on 6-12 March 2016 and the Amari Hua Hin Golf Week on 13-19 March 2016.

These two week-long tournaments for all golfers (with and without handicaps), include four rounds of golf at Championship venues and nightly social and entertainment events. Also catering to the needs of non-golfers and travelling companions, a series of tours to the regions’ popular attractions and destination experiences will be offered.

Amari will host this unique dual-destination golfing experience at two of its top locations in Thailand: Amari Ocean Pattaya and Amari Hua Hin.

Amari Ocean Pattaya located on the peaceful northern end of the bay, offering unrivalled views, seclusion and easy access to the area’s most popular attractions. Each of the resort’s 297 spacious guest rooms and suites feature panoramic floor to ceiling windows or private balconies, and are decorated with modern Asian splashes of red, dark wood, polished stone and glass. The hotel offers access to a beach, indulgent treatments at Breeze Spa and international cuisine at the award winning Mantra Restaurant & Bar, and is a great choice for a Pattaya golf getaway.

Robert Rijnders, Senior Vice President and Area General Manager in Pattaya, said: “Amari Pattaya is within close proximity to more than 20 of the region’s finest courses. We look forward to hosting our first Golf Week and are confident players will enjoy our hotel, our service and our strategic location.

With a rich royal connection, Hua Hin has long been a magnet for Thai and foreign holiday makers. Amari Hua Hin offers sophisticated comfort in an idyllic garden setting near Khao Takiab Beach, with contemporary architecture modelled after the rhythm of the nearby waves. The resort offers 223 guest rooms and suites, delectable breakfasts at Mosaic and all-day dining options at the Reef Deli and Wine Lounge or the brand-new waterfront Shoreline Beach Club. Other facilities include the Breeze Spa, kids’ club, two pools and a fitness centre.

Christoph Leonhard, General Manager, Amari Hua Hin, said: “We are proud to be host of the Amari Hua Hin Golf Week for the second year in a row, building up on the event’s success last year. My team and I are looking forward to welcoming return golfers and new players for a week of amazing golf, great fun and fellowship.

In Pattaya, golfers will experience the best of the best and play at Siam Country Club’s three world-class courses, all of which will be LPGA and Asian Tour venues in 2016. The fourth round completing tournament golf will be the Jack Nicklaus-designed Laem Chabang widely hailed by critics as the best layout in Pattaya and for its unique usage of the land’s mixed terrain of mountains, lakes and river valleys. An optional fifth recreational round is available at Burapha Golf Club when there is a rest day halfway through the week.

In Hua Hin, golfers will play at four world-class courses. Springfield Royal Country Club is one of the oldest courses in the area. The course leaves nothing to be desired. Designed by Jack Nicklaus and featuring his signature layout, it was always intended to be a championship course. From the first hole to the last it is a breathtaking yet enjoyable challenge for golfers of all skill levels. Black Mountain Golf Club is simply stunning. Surrounded on three sides by the black mountains themselves, and retaining all the natural creeks and contours of the site upon which it was built, this is simply one of the very best courses in Thailand and is host to a joint European/Asian Tour event. At Banyan Golf Club, course architect Pirapon Namatra of Golf East has created a course with a fine layout and stunning sea and mountain views from most holes. The course was opened only in 2008 and was soon awarded Best New Golf Course in Asia Pacific in a readers’ poll of Asia Golf Monthly magazine. It has since consistently gained numerous accolades both for the course and for the club house and amenities. Recently opened amidst much fanfare in 2010, Sea Pines Golf Course is located right on the beach and comes across like a tropical version of a Scottish links course. The pine trees from which the course takes its name are much in evidence, and together with the mountains and the ocean provide a stunning backdrop to a course whose difficulty is inextricably linked to the strength of the wind coming in from the Gulf of Thailand.

The events are organized and run by Golfasian, Asia’s most popular inbound golf tour operator. Established in 1997 in Bangkok, Thailand Golfasian is one of the most established inbound golf tour operators in Asia. Golfasian’s quality of services and expert knowledge has made it the first choice for golfers and golf tour operators throughout the world.
