Visit the Philippines Again 2016 campaign launched with exclusive event at the Gherkin

Following the success of the Visit the Philippines Year (VPY) 2015 campaign, the DOT and the TPB launched the exciting campaign, which aims to attract more UK visitors to the country and encourage them to visit the country again.

Visit the Philippines Again (VPA) 2016, the Philippines Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Tourism Promotions Board’s (TPB) latest campaign, was officially launched at World Travel Market 2015 with an exclusive event at Searcy’s at The Gherkin on 3 November 2015.
 
The Black Eyed Peas star apl.de.ap, a proud Filipino, headlined the glamorous event on the top floor of the iconic Gherkin building, during which he treated guests to a selection of Black Eyed Peas songs as well as a performance of his It’s more fun in the Philippines song. The theme of the event was EDM (Electronic Dance Music), which saw guests dancing long in to the night and proving it really is ‘More Fun In The Philippines.’ The high-profile event was attended by 200 guests including the Philippines Department of Tourism’s Secretary Ramon R. Jimenez, Jr.; Domingo Ramon C. Enerio III, TPB’s Chief Operating Officer; and Benito C. Bengzon, Jr., Deputy Minister.

Following the success of the Visit the Philippines Year (VPY) 2015 campaign, the DOT and the TPB launched the exciting campaign, which aims to attract more UK visitors to the country and encourage them to visit the country again. VPA 2016 is a retail-based campaign to drive excitement among international travellers to visit the Philippines and return for more fun, friendship, feel-good adventures, and fabulous memories to cherish in 2016.
 
International holidaymakers will be treated to many new and exciting attractions and spectacular locations that showcase the beauty of the Philippines islands and the warmth of its people. A host of exclusive events are planned for 2016 including Madrid Fusion Manila 2016 in April for foodies, the 2016 Ironman 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championship in August for sports and outdoor enthusiasts, and the MTV Music Evolution 2016 in May for music-lovers.

Returning visitors will also be given exclusive travel deals and special incentives to keep them returning to the Philippines including special discounts on flights, hotel accommodation and tour packages by simply presenting proof of previous visits.
 
The Philippines registered a total of 2.6 million international visitors from January to June 2015 alone and has total earnings generated from tourism activities of 111.05 billion Pesos (£1.57 billion approximately) for the first six months of 2015.
 
Philippines Department of Tourism’s Secretary Ramon R. Jimenez, Jr., said: “Visit the Philippines Again 2016 is our latest initiative and builds on the success of our current Visit Philippines Year campaign. No matter whether a traveller visits our country once or 10 times, they will always discover something new. The launch event was a spectacular showcase of the Philippines’ hospitality and we are looking forward to welcoming UK visitors to our beautiful destination in 2016.
