Castlewood Group announces triple award-winning “Dream Phuket Hotel & Spa” opening 1st December 2015

The hotel will open on the 1st December this year with 174 guestrooms, suites and villas located on the northern peninsula of beautiful Bang Tao beach.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Singapore commercial real estate developer Castlewood Group has announced the launch of their flagship luxury hotel development in Phuket, the Dream Phuket Hotel & Spa. This is the first project cementing the recently established strategic partnership with Début Hotel Group – a part of renowned New York-based Hampshire Brand, Hotel and Asset Management – for the development and operation of the upper-upscale lifestyle brand Dream Hotels, and its expansion strategy throughout Asia.

The hotel will open on the 1st December this year with 174 guestrooms, suites and villas located on the northern peninsula of beautiful Bang Tao beach. It is a welcome addition to the upmarket area favored by other international five star brands and luxury villa communities.

A three-time winner of New Hotel Design and Construction Thailand from the prestigious International Hotel Awards Asia Pacific (for the years 2012-2013, 2013-2014, and 2014-2015), the hotel also breaks new ground with its environmental-friendly features that effectively reduce the its eco-footprint. Passive ventilation designs encourage airflow and reduce power expenditure, while overhanging balconies and “green” walls provide natural shade. On the roofs, grey water collection and filtration processes reuse rainwater for irrigation, and energy efficient LED lights reduce electricity consumption. The architecture was also designed to seamlessly integrate indigenous landscape features for an immersive experience unique to Thailand.

Trilogy, the signature restaurant, will be a first of its kind in Phuket — Michelin inspired menus designed by three world-class chefs who have been awarded three Michelin stars amongst them. This will be the first of many such restaurants Castlewood Group plan to open in Asia.

Other hotel features include: A swim-up Pool Bar with private cabanas and sun beds; Indulge – a luxurious lounge with classic leather and fine timber furnishings and featuring over 200 wines, tapas style cuisine and an excellent selection of cigars; Sanctuary – a spa that offers therapies designed around the 5 Element Theory of seeking balance from earth, wind, fire, metal and wood energy; and Dream Beach – Phuket’s most happening beach club just five minutes away on Layan Beach.

We are extremely excited for Dream Phuket Hotel & Spa to start its commercial operations later this year. Catering to the global tourist who appreciates design and bespoke guest experiences, Dream Phuket Hotel & Spa will curate services that shape each moment for great memories, starting from venues that set the dynamic stage, playlists that color the mood, and menus that push culinary boundaries,” said Mr. Gavin Brooking, Principal Hotels & Resorts, Castlewood Management Limited.

Dream Hotels and the Début Hotel Group are both innovative and exciting brands that share Castlewood Group’s vision of delivering world-class hotels and experiences. We are confident that our first development launched with Dream will pave a strong growth story for both parties, as well as rewarding returns for our buy-to-lease investors. Partnering our deep experience in the Asian market with Dream’s unique and edgy brand offering, we have created something truly remarkable. The opening of Dream Phuket Hotel & Spa is just the beginning of more success stories to come,” said Chris Comer, CEO, Castlewood Group.

Castlewood Group plan to develop up to 20 more new hotels in Asia over the next 10 years.
