HNA Tourism invests $78m in comprehensive overseas housing rental site Zhubaijia.com

With this partnership, Zhubaijia.com now provides comprehensive and premium services tailored to Chinese travelers featuring a mix of air travel, hotels, tailor-made tours and other unique and convenient travel services.

BEIJING – HNA Tourism Group (HNA Tourism) announced its investment of 500 million yuan ($78M) in Zhubaijia.com, an overseas housing rental site for travelers similar to Airbnb.
 
With this partnership, Zhubaijia.com now provides comprehensive and premium services tailored to Chinese travelers featuring a mix of air travel, hotels, tailor-made tours and other unique and convenient travel services. HNA Tourism will share its customer base with Zhubaijia.com, and aims to turn this platform into the most popular housing rental site for Chinese travelers. HNA Tourism’s capital injection, marking the C Series financing round for the Internet-startup founded in 2012, comes just a month after Zhubaijia.com completed its B series fundraising which rose close to 200 million yuan from Citic Securities’ Goldstone Investment and AB Capital, among others.
 
As one of the most valuable subsidiaries of HNA Group, a company listed on the global fortune 500, HNA Tourism operates a diversified business portfolio covering five areas, including aviation, hotels, tour operators, tourism related finance, and online travel technology. HNA Tourism has more than 30 million customers around the world, and owns 144 aircraft and private jets, as well as 445 hotels including well known HN Hotels in Spain, Tsogo Sun Hotel Group and Red Lion Hotel Group. It also operates Caissa Touristic and 631 rental cars globally. As of 2014, the company’s assets were valued at 110 billion yuan with an annual turnover of 36.8 billion yuan.
