Beyond Resort Khaolak scoops prestigious Travelife Gold Sustainability Award

To gain Travelife Gold certification a hotel must meet 150 strict sustainability criteria, including environmental issues, such as minimising waste and use of energy, water and chemicals.

KHAO LAK, Thailand – Pioneering Thailand hotel, Beyond Resort Khaolak, has secured the prestigious Travelife for Hotels & Accommodations Gold award, an international sustainability certification achievement that rigorously assesses a property’s performance in managing their social, environmental and economic impacts.
 
To gain Travelife Gold certification a hotel must meet 150 strict sustainability criteria, including environmental issues, such as minimising waste and use of energy, water and chemicals. 
 
In addition, a hotel is assessed on the positive and on-going action it takes on social issues, such as employee welfare, working with the local community, child protection and human rights as well as clearly demonstrating how they are helping to support local businesses and protect local traditions and wildlife.

Designed by award-winning Thai firm A49, Beyond Resort Khaolak offers 177 elegant and spacious stand-alone villas, 15 minutes’ drive from Khaolak town and just over an hour from Phuket International Airport and is located on a perfect beachfront site surrounded by verdant tropical jungle. 
 
The adults-only resort recently launched ‘Just For Two’ personalised experiences consisting of private dining, local culinary safaris and tailor-made cultural immersion journeys to make merit at local temples, wash elephants, nurture endangered turtles and enjoy castaway island diving excursions – all of which incorporate community elements and support. 
 
Beyond Resort Khaolak also recently launched 24 Palm Villa Elite accommodation. The 78-sqm villas feature a manicured garden with outdoor shower, comfortable loungers and a 3×8-metre pool or Jacuzzi. All villas include a large bathroom with separate shower and double basins, walk-in wardrobe, King or Hollywood Twin beds, flat screen smart TV with direct internet access, free mini bar and are fully walled in to ensure privacy.
