AirAsia pioneers new route connecting South Malaysia and Thailand

Bangkok is the capital city of Thailand and one of the world’s top travel destinations.

SEPANG – AirAsia announced a new unique route connecting its Southern hub of Johor Bahru with the Thai capital Bangkok; adding yet another pioneer route, right after the recent launch of the Kuala Lumpur – Pattaya direct flights. This new route is available for booking.

Spencer Lee, Head of Commercial for AirAsia Berhad said, “Johor Bahru is the third largest city in Malaysia with tremendous traveling demand, and we are determined to be the airline that provides the best connectivity from the south of peninsular Malaysia. Now, our guests from Johor no longer need to transit through Kuala Lumpur or even commute to Singapore like they used to get to Thailand.

Earlier, we have also announced the recommencement of direct flights from Johor Bahru to Medan, Indonesia with two flights weekly; and the introduction of the first-of-its kind ‘Self Bag-Drop’ service in Malaysia that is currently only available at Senai International Airport. These initiatives reaffirm our commitment in growing the Johor Bahru hub with our guests’ convenience in mind, while stimulating the region’s tourism growth through our extensive flight network across the Asean region and beyond,” added Spencer.

Bangkok is the capital city of Thailand and one of the world’s top travel destinations. It is very easy to fall in love with this vibrant city for their friendly Thais, delicious Tomyum, stunning temples, great shopping, relaxing massages and bustling nightlife. Travellers to Bangkok can enjoy a breezy cruise on the river taxi along the Chao Phraya River and hop on to the shore for the breath taking Wat Arun or the Temple of Dawn, followed by a mouth-watering dish of Pad Thai.

AirAsia is continuously looking into making the booking experience as smooth and fast as possible for guests. The airline’s website airasia.com now provides an enhanced booking system with features that enables faster payment (Xpress booking), easier navigation with previews of details and add-ons for your booking, as well as the ability to pick up from your last search.
