KHAO LAK, Thailand – Leading Thailand hospitality company, Kata Group Resorts, were recently selected to host the prestigious 25th anniversary incentive opening event for German travel wholesale titan Meier’s Weltreisen.

The honor is received by less than one per cent of all hotels and resorts rated on the global user-generated review website that has revolutionized the hotel industry in recent years and become the absolute go-to source of independent information for travellers.

Guests were greeted by Kata Group Resorts President and Owner, Mr Pramookpisitt Achariyachai and his wife Mrs Tunyarat Achariyachai, and included Meier’s Weltreisen Vice President Matthias Rotter, Tourism Authority of Thailand Executive Director, Europe, Africa and Middle East, Tanes Petsuwan and Go Vacation Managing Director, Christoph Muller.

Guests enjoyed a lavish spread at travel giant Meier Weltreisen’s beach themed party at Kata Beach Resort and Spa, Phuket.

Kata Group Resorts’ Mr Pramookpisitt said: “We were honoured to host such an important event with Meier’s Weltreisen. We hope we were able to give them a great celebration to remember with a touch of Thai style and a wonderful tropical beach environment.”

Having been flown over from Germany by Meier’s Weltreisen earlier, the event kicked off with guests arriving by traditional Thai transport, utilizing local suppliers who got together to take guests to the resort in a procession of 30 songtaews, before being whisked down a fire lamp lit pathway to the beachfront for cocktails.

Guests then moved to sit under a marquee to enjoy the opening Polynesian dance show before moving onto speeches and video presentations after which a traditional lotus Thai blessing was made on the beach accompanied by music, Thai dancing and a fire show.

Meier Weltreisen executives had some supernaturally beautiful help in making sure the party went off without a hitch.

An extensive dinner buffet spread was laid on for guests while a live band played, after which a DJ took over and guests danced into the night until 1am on the beach.

We were very pleased with the event and the level of support. Despite some early rain it went off seamlessly and most importantly our travel agent sellers had a fantastic time. There was so much praise among them all,” said Meier’s Weltreisen Vice President Matthias Rotter.

Thailand is our number one market in Asia and it was logical to hold the seminar here and in Khaolak, a destination we have grown with our long term partners at Kata Group Resorts.”

Fire dancers turned up the heat as the DJ kicked in and the long night of dancing and al fresco fun unfolded.

Beyond Resort Khaolak features 177 elegant stand-alone villas, from 64 up to 204 square metres in size, located on the white sands of Pakweep Beach.
