WW1 commemorative tours at Travel Industry Exhibition

Tourism board Visit Flanders who are co-locating stands with McLachlan Tours will be providing awareness and assistance via their destination highlight session in the educational program on day two of the event.

Marking the centenary anniversary of WW1, new exhibitors – McLachlan Tours and Visit Flanders will be providing visitors with touring options and information for commemorative travel to the Western Front.

Travel industry professionals keen to assist their clients in retracing the steps of their ancestors and relatives can meet with these exhibitors and explore the options available for commemorative travel and tours to the battlefields of Belgium, France and Turkey.

Peter Smith, General Manager McLachlan Tours has expressed his anticipation for the event saying, “As a niche operator the TIE gives us a great opportunity to speak to as many travel agents as possible in the shortest of time. Battlefield tours are very topical and will remain so over the next four years with the Centenary Anniversaries of famous WW1battles, culminating in Anzac Day and Remembrance Day in 2018, acknowledging the end of the Great War. They make a sombre and meaningful add-on to any European trip.

Similarly, tourism board Visit Flanders who are co-locating stands with McLachlan Tours will be providing awareness and assistance via their destination highlight session in the educational program on day two of the event.

Sonia Holt, Account Manager, Visit Flanders said, “Participating in TIE 2015 provides Visit Flanders with an opportunity to reach out to the travel trade as we commemorate the centenary anniversary of WW1 and honour the special tie Flanders Fields shares with the ANZACs.
