Hong Kong becomes host city to four major MICE events

The four MICE events will not only bring thousands of visitors to Asia's World City, but will also solidify Hong Kong's position among the U.S. MICE market as the World's Meeting Place.

LOS ANGELES – Meetings and Exhibitions Hong Kong (MEHK), the MICE arm of the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), has successfully won various bids in 2014 to become the host city to four major conventions and corporate events. Hong Kong will host the events throughout 2015 to 2016. This is the first time that two of the four MICE events will be held outside of the U.S.

Celebrating the Society’s 50th Anniversary, the 26th International Congress of the Transplantation Society (TTS) in August 2016 will be held in Hong Kong. With approximately 5,500 attendees, this event brings together great minds and new ideas covering a diverse range of topics from the best cutting edge science to the latest controversies in ethics and public policy.

The International Congress of the Transplantation Society (TTS) has recognized for some time that from a transplant perspective, this is the Asian century. In demonstrating a TTS commitment to worldwide access to transplantation, we can think of no better place to hold TTS 2016 than in one of the major gateways to Asia,” said Prof. Dr. Phillip J. O’Connell, President, The Transplantation Society. “Hong Kong is an exciting destination reflecting the cultural mix of the territory’s Chinese roots with influences from its time as a British colony. The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, located on the magnificent and renowned Victoria Harbour, is a wonderful venue to mark a major milestone for the Society as we will be celebrating our 50th Anniversary.

In addition to the 26th International Congress of the Transplantation Society (TTS), thousands of industry leaders and experts will travel to Hong Kong to participate in the following events:

The event drew attendees from the Asia-Pacific region along with participants from the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East. A relaxed yet business oriented environment, the ASAE’s Great Ideas Conference 2015 provided attendees an opportunity to generate and be exposed to many great ideas that will further their organization’s journey to progress.
 – HxGN LIVE Hong Kong – HxGN LIVE, Hexagon’s international conference and tech expo, will travel across the globe in 2015 to provide customers in the East another opportunity to experience the inspiring keynotes, unlimited networking and must-see technologies of this hallmark event. Scheduled for Nov. 18-20, the Hong Kong event marks the first time the conference will be held in Asia in addition to North America. The event is expected to have approximately 3,000 attendees.

The four MICE events will not only bring thousands of visitors to Asia’s World City, but will also solidify Hong Kong’s position among the U.S. MICE market as the World’s Meeting Place.

As the meeting place between East and West, Hong Kong is a one-of-a-kind destination for MICE events offering high standards of hospitality and accommodation, as well as a vast array of leisure activities,” said Bill Flora, the U.S. Director of the Hong Kong Tourism Board. “We look forward to working with the four organizations and welcoming their guests with open arms to “Asia’s World City.
