BANGKOK – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Rome Office expects the number of Spanish travellers to Thailand to increase by five per cent this year, following the airing of travel documentaries of Thai attractions hosted by Spanish top model Andrés Velencoso on Spain’s Cuatro TV.
The PlanetaCalleja crews are in Thailand this month (March 2015) for the filming of its Thailand episodes in Bangkok, Pattaya and Krabi. The crew filmed Andrés Velencoso’s travel experiences in Bangkok and Pattaya during 18-20 March, and will be shooting in Krabi from 26-30 March.
Ms Jittima Sukpalin, the Director of TAT Rome office said, “We have lent our support to the producers of PlanetaCalleja during the filming of their Thailand episodes. We hope that the beautiful sceneries of Thai attractions along with the captivating first-hand stories by Andrés Velencoso will entice Spanish travellers to travel to Thailand to experience by themselves our beautiful country in the footsteps of their beloved Spanish heartthrob.”

The Thailand episodes of PlanetaCalleja are expected to be aired on Cuatro TV and the programme’s social media channels around the end of this year.
PlanetaCalleja is a famous Spanish travel programme on Cuatro TV, which has a viewership of 1.5 million. The programme itself has more than 700,000 followers on its Twitter account and Facebook fan page.
The TV host, Andrés Velencoso has been in the fashion industry for more than 10 years. He has presented various global brands, including Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent, Loewe, Jean Paul, Mango and H&M, as well as starred in Spanish films and made appearances in Spain’s B&B TV Show.
The TAT Rome Office is responsible for promoting Thailand in the following source markets: Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Israel, Egypt, Turkey, and Cyprus.
