Mariner of the Seas makes maiden call at Kuantan

Mariner of the Seas will be completing its second consecutive Singapore winter/spring season this week which started last November.

KUALA LUMPUR – Royal Caribbean International’s Mariner of the Seas, the largest cruise ship based in Asia, visited the port of Kuantan in Malaysia for the first time. The 138,279 gross registered ton ship has arrived with more than 3,000 international guests onboard. She is on a 3-night cruise from Singapore. 
 
The ship’s guests were able to visit shoreside highlights in Kuantan for this itinerary, such as Lake Chini on a scenic boat ride, Sungai Lembing tin mining town to visit the former world’s largest underground tin mine preserved in its most natural and original state, fishing villages where one can buy dried seafood products, and the long sandy beach that offers a spectacular view of the South China Sea.
 
Mariner of the Seas will be completing its second consecutive Singapore winter/spring season this week which started last November. Following the Kuantan cruise, the ship is leaving Singapore for Shanghai on an 8-night cruise with calls at Ho Chi Minh City (Phu My), Hong Kong and Xiamen.

The ship will be back in Singapore for a new season from October, comprising a variety of popular cruises of 3, 4 and 5 nights to a variety of exotic destinations such as Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang), Penang, Langkawi and Phuket. She will also be featuring longer cruises of 7 nights, one itinerary to Bangkok (Laem Chabang) overnight) and Ho Chi Minh City (Phu My) and another to Penang, Langkawi, Phuket (overnight), as well as an 9-night cruise to Shanghai with calls at Ho Chi Minh City (Phu My) and Hong Kong with overnights and Xiamen.
 

The 15 passenger-deck, 3,807-guest Mariner of the Seas offers cruisers the renowned Voyager Class activities and entertainment such as the ice-skating rink, Royal Promenade, a boulevard of shops and cafes, full-sized sports court, in-line skating track, rock-climbing wall and mini-golf course. In addition, there is a three-tier theatre, themed bars and lounges.
 
Mariner of the Seas also features the unique DreamWorks Animation entertainment programme. Guests of all ages can interact with ‘celebrity’ characters like Shrek and Fiona of “Shrek”, Alex of “Madagascar” and Po of “Kung Fu Panda” during parades in the Royal Promenade, character breakfasts in the main dining room and photo opportunities. 
 
There are numerous dining options onboard including the Main Dining Room and buffet restaurant, and specialty restaurants namely Chops Grille Steakhouse, the rustic-style Italian restaurant Giovanni’s Table and Johnny Rockets 50s’ style American diner. As for accommodation, the choice ranges from the luxurious Royal Suites to the unique promenade staterooms with views overlooking the Royal Promenade.
