EVA to launch second Fukuoka route, fly from Kaohsiung

Airline continues to grow Taiwan – Japan service network.

TAIPEI, TAIWAN – EVA Air will launch its second Fukuoka route and begin flights from Kaohsiung in Southern Taiwan on March 31, 2015. Travelers can book flights and reserve seats now for nonstop service between Taiwan’s second-largest city and the largest city in Japan’s Kyushu region by contacting a travel agent, an EVA ticket office or clicking on the airline’ website.

EVA will operate a 184-seat Airbus 321-200 configured with eight seats in business class and 176 in economy on the Kaohsiung – Fukuoka route. The airline introduced regular Kaohsiung – Osaka service in early February and will adjust current Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday operations on March 29, 2015 so that daily flights on the route all have the same numbers and departure and arrival times.

EVA initiated regularly scheduled Kaohsiung – Tokyo flights in 2013. Successful development of that service led to addition of the Kaohsiung – Osaka and Kaohsiung – Fukuoka routes. EVA will expand its Japan network further, starting on March, 29, 2015 when it boosts Taoyuan – Hakodate frequency from three flights per week to daily and Taoyuan – Osaka from 16 to 21 a week.

EVA developed its new routes and increased services to meet rising market demand and give both business and leisure passengers more flexibility and itinerary options. The Kaohsiung schedule in particular will save time and make travel significantly more convenient for passengers flying to and from southern Taiwan. In addition to operating 104 weekly flights between Taiwan and Japan, EVA’s routing throughout Asia is among the best in the airline industry.

EVA flies to nine gateways in Japan, including both Narita and Haneda airports in Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Komatsu, Sendai, Sapporo, Hakodate and Okinawa. From gateways in Europe, Oceania and North America, including Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, Vancouver, and, starting in June, Houston, passengers can make one stop in Taipei and easily connect onward to almost every major business and leisure destinations in Asia.
