Vietjet welcomes new aircraft

The brand new Airbus A320 is the third of the 100 aircraft order made by the airline with Airbus in September 2013.

SINGAPORE – Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company welcomed the latest member to its expanding family of Airbus aircraft at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on 12 February 2015.

The brand new Airbus A320 is the third of the 100 aircraft order made by the airline with Airbus in September 2013. The arrival of VN-A659 brings Vietjet’s current fleet count to 21, a timely addition to accommodate the increased travel demand during the Lunar New Year holiday season.

Vietjet is also expected to welcome another A320 aircraft in Thailand in March 2015. This will enable its joint venture Thai Vietjet to operate its inaugural domestic flight in Thailand during the busy Songkran festival period. Thai Vietjet will operate domestic flights from Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok to Phuket, Udon Thani and Krabi, as well as international flights between Bangkok and Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.

With a fleet of 21 Airbus A320 aircraft, Vietjet operates approximately 150 flights per day. The airline currently operates 28 domestic and international routes across the region, including destinations such as Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan and Cambodia. It is also actively planning to expand its international flight network across the Asia Pacific region and beyond.

Vietjet also offers express check-in at all airports for passengers over 65 years of age, expectant mothers, and families travelling with infants. Passengers with special needs and requirements are encouraged to approach VietJet’s express check-in counters for priority boarding and assistance with carry-on luggage.
