New travel website for Sydney & NSW launched in China

Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge – Destination NSW Sydney.cn is hosted in China to allow faster download speeds and is also mobile responsive. The site is also available in English.

SYDNEY – A new website, Sydney.cn, sharing 150 travel experiences in Sydney and New South Wales (NSW) for Chinese travellers in Traditional and Simplified Chinese was launched by Destination NSW, the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency.

NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Tourism and Major Events, Troy Grant, said “China is the number one inbound visitor market for NSW. In the year ending September, more than 443,000 Chinese visitors stayed 12.1 million nights in NSW and spent more than$1.5 billion during their stay.”

“It makes sense to have a dedicated and easy to navigate website to ensure potential visitors fromChina can access the information they need to help plan their next holiday toSydney and Regional NSW,” Mr Grant said.

Set to become China’s number one source for travel information about Sydney and NSW, the website covers more than 150 iconic experiences, events and destinations inSydney, the Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley, Central Coast, Byron Bay, Port Macquarie, Port Stephens and Coffs Harbour.

Visitors to the website will be able to create travel wish lists, view maps and itinerary suggestions, and learn about the state’s key tourism experiences such as coastal adventures, food and wine, nature and wildlife, festivals and major events, farm stays, shopping, adventure and attractions.

Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer, Sandra Chipchase said the website will inspire and educate Chinese travellers aboutSydney and NSW holiday experiences.

“Sydney.cn will be a great way for visitors from China to easily find out more about our state.Sydney and NSW has so much to offer visitors from China, namely the magnificent Blue Mountains, the stunningHunter Valley, the crystal clear waters of the South Coast and our beautiful harbour city. Food, wine, nature and animal encounters, shopping and Aboriginal experiences – NSW has it all and we can’t wait to welcome visitors fromChina.”

“Sydney.cn will also provide access to the latest and best tourism information available on visiting toSydney and NSW, including a Travel Assistant section on the latest visa, customs, health and safety and credit card shopping information,” Ms Chipchase said.
