Vietjet receives second of 100 Airbus A320 aircraft

The A320, one of Airbus’ most popular models features modern and advanced technologies, making it more fuel and cost efficient.

SINGAPORE – Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (“Vietjet”) welcomed the latest addition of its expanding fleet with a brand new A320 aircraft from Hamburg, Germany. The VN-A659, which is the second of the 100 Airbus A320s ordered by the airline in September 2013, was purchased through a financing agreement with GE Capital in the U.S.A and TPBank in Vietnam.

The delivery of the single-aisle aircraft brings Vietjet’s current fleet size to 19, enabling the airline to meet the high travel demand for the upcoming year-end holiday season such as Christmas, New Year and Vietnam’s Lunar New Year, Tet in 2015. The A320, one of Airbus’ most popular models features modern and advanced technologies, making it more fuel and cost efficient.

Since Vietjet started its operations three years ago, the airline has doubled its commercial fleet, resulting in the transportation of approximately eight million passengers thus far. Vietjet currently operates 26 domestic and international routes. It offers daily flights from Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City where travellers can easily connect to other cities within Vietnam via the airline’s extensive network of domestic flights. In addition, other international routes include Bangkok, Siem Reap, Taipei and Seoul.

VietJet offers express check-in at all airports for passengers over 65 years of age, expectant mothers, and families travelling with infants. Passengers with special needs and requirements are encouraged to approach VietJet’s express check-in counters for priority boarding and assistance with carry-on luggage.
