The Ho Chi Minh City – Taipei route will initially operate five round trips per week with a flight duration of three hours and 25 minutes per section.
SINGAPORE – Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (“Vietjet”) has officially launched operations of its seventh international flight route from Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) to Taipei (Taiwan).
The maiden flight which took off on 12 December 2014 saw exclusive in-flight entertainment such as a magic show and a traditional folk dance with passengers also receiving wonderful gifts from the airline.
The Ho Chi Minh City – Taipei route will initially operate five round trips per week with a flight duration of three hours and 25 minutes per section.
Vietjet will depart from Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 2.30pm (Vietnam time) and arrive at Taoyuan International Airport at 6.55pm (Taiwan time). The return flight will take off from Taipei at 8.00pm (Taiwan time) and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 10.25pm (Vietnam time).
“This new flight route aims to bring the two countries closer. With a large Taiwanese community in Vietnam and a growing Vietnamese population in Taiwan, we hope to connect families and friends, while developing trade and tourism growth between the two countries at the same time. We would like to encourage more Taiwanese enterprises, businessmen and tourists from Taiwan to Vietnam. Through flying with Vietjet, they will be able to discover and experience our safe and modern aircraft with easy check-in and amazing in-flight services,” said Mr Desmond Lin, Business Development Director at Vietjet.
Vietjet also announced that the airline will continue to expand its flight network in the near future by adding flights from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to other destinations within Taiwan, such as Kaohsiung and Taichung, offering more flying opportunities with best possible services and unbeatable fares.
Since Vietjet started its operations three years ago, the airline has doubled its commercial fleet, resulting in the transportation of approximately over six million passengers thus far. Vietjet currently operates 26 domestic and international routes. It offers daily flights from Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City where travellers can easily connect to other cities within Vietnam via the airline’s extensive network of domestic flights. In addition Taipei, other international routes include Bangkok, Siem Reap and Seoul.
VietJet offers express check-in at all airports for passengers over 65 years of age, expectant mothers, and families travelling with infants. Passengers with special needs and requirements are encouraged to approach VietJet’s express check-in counters for priority boarding and assistance with carry-on luggage.
