Air China receives Facebook award

Since June 2013, Air China has pioneered the use of Facebook in Greater China's aviation industry, and opened a Facebook account in North America, Europe, Japan and other areas.

BEIJING – Jayne Leung, president for Facebook Greater China, met He Zhigang, general manager for Air China‘s marketing department, at Air China headquarters on December 9, 2014. Leung highly praised Air China’s brand promotion and marketing innovation with overseas social media platform, and awarded Air China the “Best Use of Facebook for International Marketing of Greater China 2014.”
 
During the award ceremony, Leung first expressed her congratulations to Air China, and then presented General Manager He Zhigang with the award. To celebrate the coming Christmas and New Year holidays, they decorated a Christmas tree with post cards of Air China’s flagship 747-8, which were made by fans, and lighted the Christmas tree together.
 
Since June 2013, Air China has pioneered the use of Facebook in Greater China’s aviation industry, and opened a Facebook account in North America, Europe, Japan and other areas. Till now Air China has published more than two thousand posts, attracted 130 thousand followers, and reached 20 million people in total. What’s more, 200 thousand people have interacted with the company. On Facebook Air China not only has the company introduced product services, routes and special offers around the world, but has also provide 24*7 hours of information inquiries, making it a new channel of communication for global passengers.
 
Air China will adhere to Facebook and other overseas social media platforms as important tools for the development of the global market. Officially certified by Facebook, this marks Air China as on par with other international mainstream airlines. As an aviation leader in China, Air China wishes to continue leading the trend in global market development with an open attitude and a spirit of innovation.
