KOH SAMUI, Thailand – Kanda Residences Samui recently scooped the “Luxury Private Pool Villa” award for Thailand at the World Luxury Hotel Awards 2014

The winners were announced at a glittering awards gala ceremony held in Cape Town, South Africa and attended by hoteliers from around the world.

On receiving the hotly contested award, Isara Pangchan, Resort Manager of Kanda Residences commented, “As the winner in the country category, Kanda Residences highlighted the luxury segment of the hotel industry in Thailand and particularly on the tropical island of Koh Samui.”

“Sophisticated travellers are increasingly seeking the privacy and exclusivity of a villa experience, and our collection of two, three  and four bedroom pool villas has proved very popular with families and groups of friends. We are delighted to have been recognized with this accolade, and I am honoured to receive this award on behalf of our entire team, without whom our achievements will not have been possible.

Established in 2006, the World Luxury Hotel Awards recognize achievements in the luxury hotel niche with 50 categories covering lodges, private island resorts, casinos and city hotels around the world. Over a thousand global nominations were received this year; the judging process was then opened up to global tour operators, travel agents and travellers, ensuring the results are an accurate representation of industry and public assessment.

Kanda Residences comprises a collection of two-, three-, and four-bedroom villas cascading from the Bo Phut hills down to the clear waters of the Gulf of Thailand. Each of the 36 pool villas is designed in a Thai contemporary style and features elegant living spaces, spacious dining areas, large manicured gardens and private or beautiful  swimming pools. Making the most of luxury tropical living, oversized outdoor terraces are dotted with sun lounges, while a covered open-air sala perched poolside offers reprieve from the warm island rays.

The self-contained luxury sanctuaries come complete with fully-equipped kitchens but should guests wish to explore the resort grounds, they can indulge in facilities including our main infinity pool and children’s pool and participate in a host of beach activities such as snorkelling and kayaking expeditions. Guests have the option of having an in-villa BBQ – ideal for a intimate family brunch or a fun-filled pool party afternoon with friends – or dine at the resort’s beachfront iconic restaurant RockPool.

An on-site wellness centre offers traditional Thai massage, yoga and Reiki sessions amongst a range of other indulgent treatments, all of which can also be enjoyed in the privacy of the guests’ villa.
