InterCity launches new TravelPass range for independent travellers

The new TravelPass range gives travellers access to New Zealand’s largest bus network, Interislander ferry travel and some of New Zealand’s top attractions.

InterCity has launched a brand new range of its popular TravelPass New Zealand bus passes, just in time for summer. TravelPasses are national and regional bus passes with pre-planned itineraries and flexible timing.

The new TravelPass range gives travellers access to New Zealand’s largest bus network, Interislander ferry travel and some of New Zealand’s top attractions, including the famous Hobbiton Movie Set, cruises in the Bay of Islands and Milford Sound, and the scenic TranzAlpine railway.

InterCity Group General Manager NZ Coachlines Sam Peate says the all-inclusive TravelPass range appeals to independent travellers because of its flexible nature and the ability to see New Zealand the way the locals do.

TravelPass gives travellers the security of travelling on New Zealand’s largest passenger transport network at a great price, with the flexibility to set their own schedule and choose their own accommodation,” he says.

From this summer onwards TravelPass passengers will be also be able to enjoy free Wi-Fi as it is rolled out across the entire InterCity fleet, thanks to a partnership with Spark Digital. Once installation is complete, InterCity will be the only nationwide long distance bus company to have free Wi-Fi on every route.

Other benefits of travelling with InterCity include multiple daily departures on most routes and New Zealand’s most generous bus travel luggage allowance.

TravelPass passengers can purchase their pass and manage all their travel online. Passes are valid for 12 months, giving passengers plenty of time to explore New Zealand.
