Taiwan-A shining star among asian destinations at EIBTM 2014

Taiwan booth at EIBTM 2014 was delicate with good location and attracted more than a hundred of buyers, trade visitors, corporate buyers and media for business talks with exhibitors.

To promote Taiwan as the best destination for incentive travel and meeting, Taiwan Tourism Bureau once again organized a strong MICE team to participate in EIBTM in Barcelona, Spain, November 18-20, with exhibitors including Taiwan Convention & Exhibition Association, Taiwanlook DMC, Taipei International Convention Center, and Willy Events Consultant

Taiwan booth was delicate with good location and attracted more than a hundred of buyers, trade visitors, corporate buyers and media for business talks with exhibitors. In the course of business conversation and networking, many buyers showed their strong interests in the Asian Pacific market, particularly in Taiwan as a shining new destination for them to discover.

Situated in the heart of Asia, Taiwan plays a key role and provides a platform to link Asia with the world‘s MICE market. With hospitality, beautiful sceneries, convenient transportation systems, well-functioned MICE facilities, and outstanding ranking by quite a number of social media, Taiwan is one of the best places to travel in terms of safety and low exposure to violent crimes, an important factor for international visitors when choosing an incentive travel destination.

On the second day of EIBTM, Taiwan pavilion had a successful reception to welcome all buyers and let know more about Taiwan’s MICE environment and government support measures. The reception  thus attracted the attention of both printed and TV media for interviews with the Taiwan delegation. Some local MICE market figures such as Emirates Barcelona manager Mr. Galli, famous tourist blogger Sonia Graupera, and the only two official Chinese tour guides in Spain Ms. Wang Li Jin and Lin Chun Min also attended the reception. The local radio Euskadi even had afterwards an interview over mobile phone with team leader Thomas Tsou, secretary general of Taiwan Convention & Exhibition Association and Ms. Ines Wu, director of Taiwan Trade Center in Barcelona representing the Taipei International Convention Center.

Aside from buyers from the Asian market, more and more buyers from emerging markets are becoming interested in Taiwan as a new destination. It was therefore not too surprising to see many Russian buyers had started to organize FAM trips to Taiwan to assess their next destination, and an Israeli buyer even planned to hold conferences of 500-2000 attendees in Taiwan in 2 years. All these are proofs that Taiwan is becoming a shining star among Asian destinations one can’t afford to miss.
