Meanwhile, Tan Sri Bashir Ahmad, Advisor and former Managing Director of Malaysia Airports, will deliver a special presentation to set the scene for an exclusive klia2 Symposium, which will outline in great detail the thinking behind the world’s largest purpose-built terminal for low-cost carriers which opened in May 2014, how it has been delivered and why it is so great for airlines, the people who work there and every passenger who travels through it.

The ‘On the Ground’ and ‘Up in the Air’ conference streams will also include an IATA Passenger Experience Workshop, plus airlinetrends.com and airporttrends.com workshops.

In addition, the FTE Asia 2014 exhibition will provide a showcasing platform for the industry’s most innovative organisations, which will be exhibiting their latest solutions and services that have been designed to simplify and improve the passenger experience both on the ground and in-flight.

A number of the industry’s leading suppliers have already confirmed their participation, including: Rockwell Collins/ARINC Airports, AirAsia, Access IS, Boon Edam, Custom Engineering, Damarel Systems, Gunnebo, ICTS, IER, Kaba, Maxworth, OKI, PrehKeyTec and SITA.

FTE Asia 2014 will also include an exciting social and networking programme, which will be open to all delegates. As well as hosting a spectacular Gala Evening at the Cyberview Resort & Spa, Malaysia Airports will offer guided tours of the new klia2, so delegates can experience the terminal first-hand, and gain an unrivalled insight into how self-service facilities are helping to provide a next-generation passenger experience.

Datuk Badlisham Ghazali, Managing Director, Malaysia Airports, commented: “Malaysia Airports is delighted to be hosting Future Travel Experience Asia 2014, bringing Asia’s most passenger-focused event back to where it all started in 2010 – Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia Airports, like FTE, is dedicated to providing the best possible experience for every traveller, and we look forward to playing a vital role in bringing together the industry’s most innovative organisations to establish how we can collectively enhance the passenger experience in the future.”

It is very fitting that FTE Asia returns to Malaysia in 2014, just six months after the opening of klia2. We very much look forward to welcoming more than 400 senior industry figures to the event, which will also showcase the very best of Malaysian culture and hospitality.
