Bold Mongolian flavours at Made in China

According to Chef Kent Jin of Made in China, Inner Mongolian cuisine is characterised by strong, local flavours and mainly consists of red meats such as mutton and beef, and typical dishes include braised lamb, braised beef, stewed spare ribs, among others.

BEIJING – From 1 October to 31 December, Grand Hyatt Beijing’s signature restaurant Made in China will be featuring a special Inner Mongolian menu.
 
According to Chef Kent Jin of Made in China, Inner Mongolian cuisine is characterised by strong, local flavours and mainly consists of red meats such as mutton and beef, and typical dishes include braised lamb, braised beef, stewed spare ribs, among others.
 
The meat selection from Inner Mongolia is very fresh and tender, not greasy at all. During our promotion, we will be serving many meat delicacies, which have been favourites among the locals for thousands of years. These dishes are often prepared for special occasions, such as weddings or celebrating the elder’s birthdays”. 
 
Chef Jin explained that a key ingredient used in many of the dishes is yellow butter, which is nutritious and unique in flavour. 
 
Highlights from the promotional menu include the following traditional dishes, usually prepared for dinner parties and great celebrations:
• Chilled rice gluten noodle salad 
• Chilled spicy Mongolian style crystal noodle ,spinach and bean sprout 
• “Shacong” scallion mashed potatoes
• Spicy lamb terrine with dipping dried spices 
• Braised pork ribs with“Liuhaoya” vegetable soup 
• Mongolian style poached lamb with dried spices  
• Stewed hot and sour beef tripe with lotus root 
• Stir-fried beef “Da tong” style with garlic sprout 
• Braised plateau chicken with black soya bean 
• Braised “Yellow river” carp with chili and pork belly 
• “Ba Meng” style pickled Chinese cabbage with potato and pork belly 
• Braised beef flank with “roucongrong“ casserole style 
• Homemade Flat noodle with lamb and tomato broth 
• Buck wheat noodle soup with Mongolian mushroom 
• Steamed fresh lamb Shao-mai
• Stir-fried beef with traditional fried dough
